'Suicide bomber' taxi explodes at Liverpool Women's Hospital

We all acknowledge the driver is a hero for containing the terrorist.

We all acknowledge the bomber is some twisted scumbag.

Where I take issue is that some of you believe that his actions somehow represent 3 million+ other Muslims that live in the UK

I can easily separate his extremist views (and possibly a small group of people, if reports of raided houses and arrests are accurate) from the mass majority who follow that religion.

Unfortunately extremism exists in all different religions (Muslims, Christians, Buddhists even!) and on all sides of the political spectrum, left and right.

IIRC over 50% of British Muslims said homosexuality should be criminalised, so that's 1.5million extremists right there...

Named as "Emad al Swealmeen."

Another fine example of somebody seeking sanctuary in this country?

I don't for a moment have the answers as to how the immigration authorities try to weed out the likes of this scumbag, but they need to figure it out and fast.

As for Mr David Perry, wow! what a hero.

If, as suspected he was trying to kill people in the hospital then I hope he didn't die too quickly. As for Mr Perry, a George Cross seems appropriate if the reports are accurate.

I didn't say it was wrong, I just said it was being a bit soft saying that being against homosexuality makes you an extremist

They're not against it, they're so far against it they believe it's criminal. That's literally half of them. Half.

To be fair, there is just being against it, and then actually wanting it criminalised (which is absurd and quite an extreme view).

Maybe but that also makes a large proportion of the over 80s bracket extremists as well.

I understand that this is a very sweeping statement but you know what I mean right?

You don't think that wanting to punish people because they're attracted to the same gender is extreme?
I think it's a little extreme to think that yes. It's just an opinion to me personally, not an extreme one.

A death sentence would be extreme in my eyes. It's far too easy to be extreme these days

It's a belief, that quite frankly, is not congruent with our modern society. You mention those over 80 that share this view, well thankfully they're on the way out so their views will become irrelevant. They're the product of previous generations. They're not the new and growing one. That's a problem.

So you are saying that people can't have an opinion, even if it is extreme (in your eyes)? Its not like it will be made into law or anything is it? You cannot just irradiate an opinion like that in 2021. I mean how long has same sex marriage been legal in the UK?

It takes a very long time to change minds on something like this particular subject. There are millions and millions of people still alive now that lived in the UK where it was an actual crime to be homasexul. Before 1967 btw.

The cancel culture leaking from the keyboards of some on this forum is astounding sometimes.

It will come in good time, just be patient.

UK law not sky pixes told someone something long long ago

I don't think it's UK law to stone someone to death. I was highlighting the irony on your chosen method of punishment, 'ton of bricks' which is tangibly similar to stoning to death. Whatever, nothing would be too lenient.

I wonder if the driver's dashcam survived the blast and if it has an internal camera that some taxi drivers use.

It's a pretty extreme method for not wanting to pay for your Uber.

There's a difference between disagreeing with same sex marriage and disagreeing with homosexuality! There's then a further step towards believing it should be criminalised.

I tell you what, let's jail all Muslims.

The 1967 date was when homosexuality was not made a criminal offence by the way.

That's fair enough if that's your viewpoint. I don't think it's extreme. A little sweeping but not extreme.

Whilst Homosexuality is far from my thing, I neither think it should be illegal nor linked (as it appears) to this incident...

Although quite amusing to think the "many virgins awaiting this moron" may well be dissapointed....
