As much as Utd fans don't want to admit it, Fellaini has been one of if not their most effective players for the past 3-4 years and will remain that way as long as Mourinho is manager.

Southampton have been relatively busy, Stuart Armstrong in from Celtic at £7m, Mohamed Elyounoussi in from Basel for £16m, Marlon rumoured to be nearly done at £11m and Tadic on his way out to Ajax for £10m.

From what i recall whilst watching, he leaks as many goals as he scores.

That's a pretty poor stat as it doesn't prove your point. You specifically stated he is most likely the most effective player we have. That he happens to play in games that we win doesn't prove your point.

You score more, concede less and win more often. Surely that makes him effective? What sort of stats were you looking for to judge how effective he's been for you?

He's Mourinho's (and LvG's before) go to man. When you're chasing the game he brings him on to launch balls into the box and when you're seeing a game out he's brought on to spoil the game. Like it or not, he's the most Mourinho of Mourinho players.

There are many factors that influence the stat you're using.

Is he used against poor teams? Certain formations? At certain times in matches? How many of those wins was he responsible for? Did he make a contribution towards any of those wins?

I'm not disputing that he's the go to man. I'm disputing your statement that he's one of the most effective players. From what I saw when inqqa looking for stats earlier he was not top of any offensive or defensive stats but I'm interested in seeing the stats that show the impact he, himself, has. Like I said, I’ve seen him responsible for conceding as many as he scores but I don’t have the stats as it’s just what I’ve seen and remembered.

Ok, I' going to bed so I'm not going to find out answers for all those questions for you. Those are your stats over an entire season so should provide a decent sample.

Yes time for bed for me too but that stat still doesn’t prove your point. Surely I’m not the only one who can see this.

Even comparing your stat, I reckon we win more games (as a %) with pogba in the team than we do with Lord Failainy.
