Summer Transfer Thread 2018

Looks like Ings is off to Southampton on a loan with a view to buy him next season. Trying to get £20m for him given how little football he's played in the past 2-3 years always seemed optimistic.

Sky Sports is reporting that ten deal sheets have been submitted, giving clubs a two hour extension to finalize agreed deals. Ings is one of them, but it looks like we have another nine potential transfers to come.

As for my club Middlesbrough, we've made some decent cash selling Traore, Bamford, and Gibson, and brought a few players in, but I would've liked to see a pacey winger and a striker added to the squad to replace our outgoing players.

I can only assume are insane rumoured asking prices for origi and markovic is why they didn't move on
They've both likely to go abroad so today's deadline doesn't matter. We won't get a penny for Markovic but it will be interesting to see what happens to Origi. The club are claiming that they won't consider letting him go on loan but I'm not convinced that will be the case if nobody offers a substantial fee.

Course it matters the fees were expecting are stupid.

What makes you think forign clubs will pay the fees?

Huh? What I was saying was that neither player was likely to leave to another PL side so today's deadline doesn't change anything regarding whether they leave or not.

I don't believe we will get the fees the club have briefed, I even said that in the post you've just quoted. I expect Markovic will be shipped out on loan again with us paying half his wages but I'm interested to see what happens with Origi. If you look back to Sakho, the club kept him and stuck him in the reserves for 6 months rather than accept a loan and the club are briefing the press that they won't loan Origi out. If nobody offers £20m+ will they keep him or will they back down and loan him out? I suspect some sort of compromise will be reached similar to last summer where he's loaned out but we demand a big loan fee. Probably something similar with Mignolet too.

Im glad for him, after everything he has been through he deserves a move to somewhere that he can get game time.

Origi and Markovic may as well get shot of for any price, their careers are heading down the drain at pace, just trundling out on loan every year.

I wanted Ings to stay and have all the cup games tbh and maybe come on for firmino in games, I dont wanna trust we have a fit sturridge again it's happened too many times.

That being said Ings deserves to go wherever he wants shame two bad injuries killed his chance with us

It's been a long day I just re read your post my bad.

I'm surprised migs didn't go now, I'd of thought a promoted side may of taken him really.

I think our window for incoming has been great just a little worried we're a little light in the creative role, unless klopp is gonna give Curtis Jones some chances in season

Well another good bit of business with the ings loan/sale. We always seem to get a good price but would have been nice to keep him. Think we need to keep origi and sturidge now with Woodburn already out on loan.
