Summer Transfer Thread 2019

Apparently Welbeck can't find a club as he's demanding £100k a week and a £5m signing on fee. Don't know if I believe it. He can't be that deluded.

Apparently we'll also be getting another CB and a FB. Will be a lot happier if that happens.
I've heard the Tierney deal is close, and Emery's looking at loaning Rugani for a year until Saliba returns. If we got them over the line as well as Pepe, it would the best transfer window in the premier league tbh and the best one of ours for years.

This lineup would get me pretty excited tbh.

And we'd still have the likes of Holding, AMN, Iwobi, Xhaka, Guendouzi, Mkhi, Nelson, Willock, Nketiah, all pushing for their chance.

Those players are generally the ones that doen't have the option of joining a club already in the CL and challenging for trophies though ;)
Well it looks like Pepe could have got his move to PSG if he really wanted it. Auba could have joined a champions league team, so could Laca.

Which CL teams tried to sign Auba, at least at the amount Arsenal paid for him? So many big sides signed attackers around the time you went for Auba and nobody went for him as far as I remember. And PSG's interest in Pepe is about the same level as Liverpool - he's been whored out by Lille & his agent all summer. If you really believe he's choosing Arsenal over PSG then you're off your trolly rob.

And I really don't remember anybody of note being interested in Laca.
AM were dead set on Laca until they was hit with a transfer ban.

Every mistake both Mustafi and Sokratis make have already been made in preseason.

Mustafi with dodgyness at the back and mistakes and Sokrates with getting send off.
Shows they’re just incapable of learning and improving. They’re as good as they’ll ever be, but it’s not good enough.

Did anyone catch that on talk sport earlier about these instalment deals that are becoming commonplace?

Apparently, in many cases, the selling club sells the debt to a large finance company or bank for a percentage less than what’s owed. So for example, Pepe, is 80m. Arsenal pay £20m upfront and then Lille sell the remaining 60m debt to a finance company for £55m. Lille get £75m upfront and in their kitty and then divert all future instalments they get from Arsenal straight to the financiers, so the financiers make around 9% interest on the deal over 5 years. Everyone’s a winner!
