Summer Transfer Thread 2019

Levy will completely outfox Woodward what is the odds Eriksen and Dybala stay? Kane Son Ali good team United would need to spend again to match them or that will be Spurs taking 3rd spot.

But who not many people United can buy that are true class midfielders and will fit in. I still say Savic or Eriksen or Fernandes but i doubt anything will happen. Woodward seems unable to multitask and if Lukakus sale is the last bit of business ill be furious again because it would mean our net spend would be below Arsenal and Spurs with regards to Pepe and Dybala and we are a much richer club we need to be spending 80m more than whatever Arsenal Chelsea or Spurs spent.

I can't believe we're just over a day away from the close of the window and have not signed a bloody defender yet. WTF is going on. We've actually got less CB's than we started with so far.

Don’t worry, trust in Raúl.

Reports are coming in that the Juventus lad Rugani has agreed terms, 2 year loan with option to buy at the end.

Another player I know nothing about.

Don't know anything about him either, but the responses from people who claim they do are not encouraging.

Better than what we have but still a bit of a liability seems to be the consensus.

Looks a bit thin to me. Might need to bulk him up a bit.

I just wanted new players as the old ones were not performing.

Wilson to Bournemouth done, honestly this window is baffling I just do not get klopps plan.

Sturridge not replaced
Moreno not replaced
No back up for Bobby either

Origi extension still not convinced he will come good.

Ox doesn't play on the wing so isn't a back up to mane or salah, klopp hasn't and will not sign a quality back up.

We imo were lucky salah, Mane, Bobby didn't really have any long term injuries last season, said it time and time again the drop off is too much.

If klopp is sticking to this plan I see no reason for Wilson to go would have been plenty of chances to play him on the wing.

Lallana is not like a new player either despite what he and henderson says imo.

I fear we will regret the choice of not strengthening the team

Klopp has consistently shown that he will wait for the right player rather than panic buy or spend more than he wants to. I trust in him.

Let's face it, Wilson might have only got 10-15 minutes a game or played in the cups which Klopp hasn't taken seriously since he arrived. This way he gets to see him against PL opposition at zero risk to Liverpool's title credentials. If he does well then Klopp will include him more. There are no real downsides IMO. Sure some cover would have been nice but Origi and The Powercube will do it for me.

Regarding Sturridge and Moreno not being replaced. As soon as Origi wasn't getting sold in January Sturridge barely featured for us - Origi now being a full part of the squad (for the whole season at least) and Brewster more than replace Sturridge. Moreno played about 10 minutes of football for us last season - Hoever's emergence and the Van Den Berg signing (freeing up Gomez more) meant I had more chance of getting a game than Moreno. We may not have signed direct replacements for either but we have more cover and options in those positions now than we did last season.

Like Moreno, Wilson has no hope of ever playing for us. He's the Welsh Andros Townsend - he'll score the odd 20 yarder and will have a very good career for himself somewhere in the PL but he is a million miles away from where we are. He's 22 and Klopp's never given him a chance, that surely tells you something - keeping him would have meant a season in the reserves because he would not have played a single minute for us. Ox, Keita, Lallana, Shaq, Origi, Brewster and heck, probably even Harvey Elliott would be picked in our attack before Wilson.

I would like us to sign another wide forward and we may still do (although it's looking unlikely) but this clamour from our supporters to sign somebody for the sake of it is bordering on madness. We're really not as short of attacking options as you like to make out. Despite what you've said, Ox can and has played on the wing for us, Klopp's also used Keita in the left sided attacking role, likewise Origi and then of course we have Shaq on the right, plus Lallana if he can stay fit. That said, I think it's clear (certainly if we don't sign that forward in the next couple of days) that Klopp's idea is to use some sort of 4-2-3-1/4-2-2-2 system if and when we're without one of our front 3 or he wants to rest them. A midfield 2 of Fabinho & Wijnaldum (or Hendo/Milner) with 2 of Ox, Lallana, Keita and Shaq beind 2 of our front 3 is still a very strong, attacking line-up.

I am pretty sure Klopp is not in charge of buying players? No manager is these days

Likely no more signings too.

We’re in trouble.

Yep, our midfield is nowhere near good enough to challenge the other big teams, in fact it's worse than it was last season because of the departure of Herrera. The thought of staring the season with Matic, Pogba and one of McTominay or Pereira doesn't fill me with confidence.
