Summer Transfer Thread 24/25

I get the players leaving who have thus far and the money we have gotten been far more than I expected tbf

Now can we get a bloody incoming! (That’s not the goal keeper as I’m still meh on that regardless of logic that’s been put forward to me on it)

So, United have sold one player today and bought another, neither of them have I heard of before, but apparently both full of potential..
Sold to Legia Warsaw, Maxi Oyedele and we’ve agreed a deal for Sekou Kone, a Player from Mali

Just to add on the Sekou Kone info, hopefully he another gem for the future.

Finally getting done

I'd love Eddie to go but it does leave us a little light up top, presumably we'll be getting someone else in.

Why would you love him to leave?

As a Forest fan, I can't say the deal excites me even though we need a striker.

But do you think, as someone who's probably seen much more of him than I have, that he's simply not good enough for a title chasing team with better options, or not good enough for the Prem generally?

Well villa want him already
Chelsea would likely sub some of his wage etc, villa have improved but I doubt they can start paying 250k plus in wages etc.

I still wouldn’t class villa as a top side either just yet for Sterling that’s a drop down but what he will have to do if wishes to play

Because he's exceptionally limited outside of the box. I'd class him as an old fashioned fox in the box type who isn't particularly foxy, maybe he'd be more consistent with more play time but the negative impact on the whole team is pretty clear when he plays. He couldn't even get game time in the Championship on loan at Leeds ahead of a not very high scoring Bamford. Championship is probably his sort of level.

Cheers, that's probably my uneducated view of him too. Quite amusing you use Bamford as a comparitor given he came from Forest and at no point would I have ever wanted him back.

Maybe Forest with a winger based game, versus the Salah type inside forward, will bring out the best in him, he says in hope....

For the record, not many would have shifted Bamford from his role in that Bielsa team :p

Eddie N would suit a City type of team, just to finish off cut backs etc. Shame there isn't many of them

I think Nketia would be a half-decent Prem player given being 1st choice and playing a lot...the other season he did quite well for us, but he just doesn't have the Arteta qualities IMHO but puts in effort and knows where the goal is.

We definitely need someone to replace him, I do wonder if we might wait until January...Toney would be an upgrade and relatively cheap by then (even factoring in the wages over 4 years at £250k pw). It just feels like this window has been all noise with minimal fanfare from Arsenal :(

Looks like Trippier is moving to Everton. Shame but I think we have seen his best and on last seasons showing that is now behind him. Ipswich have agreed a fee with Sunderland for Jack Clarke, looks like their owners don't fancy promotion again this year.
