Summer Transfer Thread 24/25

Is Ugarte still 'progressing', just how much progress is there left to make? Or is it a case of trying to offload people first. Sancho, hopefully!!!!

Yeah it's nuts. German champions and Europa League (?) finalists losing out on a player to Brentford... and we still pay sod all in wages in comparison to most of the other bottom half sides. TBF Leverkusen are packed with strong centre halves.

I saw his defensive stats were remarkably similar to Ethan Pinnock's, so he could be his long-term replacement.

Carvalho mentioned in an interview after joining that the pitch we put in front of him was the most detailed and comprehensive thing he'd ever seen, so I reckon this type of approach resonates with young players looking to play regularly and improve.

Power of the PL and also the attraction of living in London. I would guess he would have had a chat with his missus about what her preference of place is to live in. Leverkusen or London...she (and most people) would prefer to live in London.

I listened to a Podcast yesterday with Benitez about his time in Liverpool on how Liverpool struggled to attract some players to teams in London and Manchester United partly because Manchester has a larger airport so easier access to Europe and all the WAGS would prefer to live in London (Arsenal, Chelsea etc).

Not just London, but the sunlit uplands of West London too! Richmond on your doorstep, etc.

I listened to the same one yesterday, a great insight into the coach's life.

The draw of an area for a family is a big part of transfers it seems. So too for coaches, hence his move to Everton after being a Liverpool manager because of his family more than anything else I think.

Yup, I know the area well. One of my best friend has season ticket to Brentford and they live next door to the stadium too, I was there a few weeks ago.

Brentford and that area is also VERY close to Heathrow, like 15mins? I can't even get out of my town in 15mins but you can get to Heathrow in about 15mins from where my friend lives.

And so, another departs from United. Will Fish agrees to join Cardiff, he’s been around for a fair while but just never made it into the first team squad for any length of time. United seem to be clearing the decks and adding sell on clauses to the deals.

Joachim andersen to fulham has been completed that's surely got to end newcastles hopes of getting guehi,

palace aren't going to let there two first choice CB's leave

Would love the see Nketiah at Forest… just not sure if I’d be comfortable with him being the highest paid player and the impact on the rest of the squad

Apparently doesn’t want to budge on his 120k a week
