SSN also reporting the Kolo story now, looks like it's close.

I can't see why Wenger would sell £40M worth of players without at least something up his sleeve. We shall wait and see.

Going to be interesting to see what Wenger does now. I was having a chat with a few Arsenal fans at work and they are happy. They consider Toure, Gallas and Adebayor as the three main reasons Arsenal had all their issues, and finally Arsene appears to be sorting it out.

The big question is, who will he replace them with? The Arsenal squad has never been very strong in depth, proven by the struggles following a lot of injuries in the past season or so. I cannot see any Arsenal fan being happy if some new players come in.

This is our problem, its not that we dont trust and respect Wenger for the manager he is and what he has done for Arsenal but last year due to injuries we lacked depth in a few areas. One being DC and the other being a DM.

With the new defender (cant remember his name :o ) we all thought he was addressing the situation. Then we were just hoping we could bring in an experienced DM until we found out which of our young players was going to cut it.

I suppose with Senderos coming back we have more backup but I dont like the fact that one of them is Silvestra. And then there is the case with Gallas who isnt going to sign on after this contract which expires next year i think.

Getting £40m for Toure and Ade is good business I just would be a lot happier if we got one or two players for around half that to booster the squad.

If injuries dont hit us (which is unlikely) I think we could be the dark horse of the season but it would be nice to have that backup if needed.

I think its worth spending £20-30m just to show some of the other players that the club still has high ambitions.

Seems a shame to spoil such a good chant with a picture of such a pants player in your sig to be honest :p

Bassong - Spurs - £4m

Next week before anyone leaves Newcastle apparently.

An interesting one, atleast he is a CB, which we so need at the moment.

However, if City get Toure, and as SSN are now reporting considering an improved bid for Lescott, I wouldnt turn down us signing Dunne.

Arsenal in talks for Krul. Odd, Very Odd.
Wouldn't complain if Fabianski got shown the door to be honest. It would be surprisingly quick for Wenger to lose faith in a youngster, but he's given me the scares when he's played.

Not really on topic, but at the pub quiz tonight, one of the questions was a sport "guess the year" type, and it was when Desert Orchid won the Cheltenham Gold Cup, Stuart McCall scored two in an FA Cup final and still lost, and Arsenal won the league title in the dying seconds at Anfield.

Needless to say I got it in seconds after that last bit.

Wenger going to go for Upson for 10mill!!

Where did you hear that?

Arsenal utility player Emmanuel Eboue is set to become the latest player to leave the Gunners by signing a five-year deal with Fiorentina.
Full story: Daily Mirror

Erm...I do hope Wenger knows what hes doing (This should fire DM off on a rant lol)

If he lets Eboue go, thats Ade, Toure and Eboue out with only one in. Thats a lot of players to get rid of. £50m off the debt i guess.

Looks like Wenger is getting rid of the Africans, the ACoN is a huge problem, 2 months right in the middle of the season where Arsenal play all of the Top 4 :/

Great seeing all the media starting to call Arsenal a selling club, have they watched Adebayor and Toure recently :(? Arsene is doing what needs to be done for the first time in a while, it's nice to see him be ruthless for once, I get the feeling he's too nice in some regards, especially when keeping players around that shouldn't be at the club anymore. Good on him. Just need to ensure he replaces the players and re-invests which I'm sure will happen when the club return to England!

That leaves us with no one to fill in if Sagna gets injured and only 2 good (assuming the new guy is) CB's. If Wenger doesn't get some people in i can envisage a painful season :(.
