Redknapp is a good manager, nothing more, nothing less. And so far in English football, so is Benitez.

What?!? look at Benitez record and what hes won in his time with liverpool, to say Benitez is nothing more of a good manager and to compare him as on the same level as Redknapp is quite silly imo.

I disagree with you there actually; CaS said "in English football". In domestic football he really hasn't done much so far. Yes, he showed last year that he is/has finally learned what is required to win the PL, and improvements are definately coming, but so far he has not shown that he is anything better than good, domestically.

looks like Bent actually signed a 4 year deal yesterday but theres a couple of things to tie up at spurs end yet...

not necessarily ridiculous, in so far as they might make that offer. But 35mil euro's is way to low. People might well be assuming Arsenal have no money as we've "appeared" to sell two of our best players, though in reality we all wanted Ade gone, and Toure has been looking for a way out for a year, we didn't sell for the money in either case.

If we excepted an offer for Fabregas for anything less than, well, 60mil euro's or something then we really are secretly in financial trouble, anything more and Wenger would sell just to be 12 more youth players off top euro clubs as per usual.

Obviously Milan have some cash to splash and need a creative/attacking midfielder soon it would seem, and why wouldn't they try and see if they can get Fabregas, no way Fab would go to Milan anyway even if we accepted a stupid offer, moving to a struggling aging team with no hope of doing well in CL or the league, he's already at a club like that :p

He'll be moving to a genuine contender on all fronts if/when he leaves, Real or Barca, can't see any other realistic option(well see how City do this season ).

It does sound like Wenger was after a striker, despite equalling the champs scoring last year even with for the majority of the year a very low scoring wingers and central midfield. This year we should, without any additions, have more goals from Fab, more goals from both wings and I think RVP will only build and improve on his first full year by scoring quite a few more, Eduardo if he stays fit will outscore Ade with ease, how there's any remote need for a striker I don't know. But he's been put off after being told he'll be 15mil, though the player is in his last year of contract and isn't a phenomonal talent either so 15mil ain't gonna happen. Still entirely no sign of more DM/CB cover even with Senderos moving off. Gallas, Verm, Djourou, Song, Silvestre, same as last year except Verm for Toure, with the following 3 completely incompetant at CB.

Have Milan signed anyone this summer with the Kaka money yet?

Don't think so, they were after a striker, Ade, Fabiano and someone else was on the list I think they will eventually get Fabiano if they haven't already.

But assuming they lose Pirlo, unless they are planning on playing Flamini alongside Gattuso more you would think they are buying a striker, a midfielder, and probably looking for long term replacements around the back.

Senderos is training with Arsenal this morning, doesn't mean they aren't/haven't accepted an offer for Everton, but would assume its not wrapped up yet if he's training with the first team this morning.

Why oh why are we being linked with Kalou? He offers absolutely nothing we don't have already. Up front is probably the only place we dont need anyone.

Looks like Fulham have signed Kagiso Dikgacoi, good signing if he can get used to the Prem. Now its just another 3-4 players to go.... :p

Everton have confirmed talks are on going. Good signing for Everton, Big Phil is a class player once given a chance.

Its not a big loss for us i think. He always seems to switch off at points during a game and doesnt have the pace to make up for it.

I wouldn't mind him, if the rumors for Hangeland were true, that we'd get Senderos and then Vela on loan, i'd possibly take it (£10m fee), but if Toure went for £16m... :p

Which seems to me that they think Lescott is on his way to city. £20 million for an average CB, possibly the best bit of business we have ever done if it goes through. Only 4 million less than we got for rooney.

A back four of Bridge, Toure, Lescott and Richards isn't going to worry any team with a decent attack. City still need to spend a wedge to compete with the top teams for the top trophies.

I don't think they're going to be capable of worrying the top 4 anyway. It's Villa, Spurs and Everton they need to be beating. Then next season they can start building further.

The defence you name, especially with Given behind them, is perfectly capable of pushing for 4th/5th spot. What would worry me is the mediocre strikers they're buying in spades.

I disagree, on paper that's without a doubt stronger than Arsenal, Everton, Villa and Spurs'

The problem Sparky will have is getting them to play like a unit and seeing as he isn't a good manager I doubt that will happen

Better than Arsenal?

Bridge worse than Clichy, check.
Toure worse than Gallas, check.
Lescott worse than Vermaelan, unknown (so I'll say not).
Richards worse than Sagna, check.

Not to mention the organisational issues as you mention.
