**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Jesus, apparently we're upping our bid for Chamakh, why on earth, just why.

RVP, Eduardo, Bendtner, Theo, Vela(maybe going on loan, no idea why), Arshavin, Nasri, Merida who has finally stepped up, Wilshire, Ramsey, etc, etc. This for a team that has apparently moved from a 4-5-1, to a 4-3-3 this year and still looked shot shy till we played 4-4-2 at the emirates tourney with one less supposed DM and one more attacking player on the pitch we finally "clicked".

Wenger won't spend properly to maintain competitiveness, no one at all except the press claim Arsenal have no money, we have a very rich board, just none of whom will actually tell Wenger to stop being such a pretentious twit. Basically Wenger thinks somehow by winning with younger or cheaper players, it means more, actually its just football, its better to win having spent, than to not even be in the race.

Oh well, we've almost certainly lost Rosicky, thats i dunno, a dozen times he's barely played half a game before going out injured again, so we've essentially lost a midfielder, apparently want to sell Eboue and he's going to buy another striker, yippee. THe problem is while he looks ok, he's NOT close to being better than RVP or Eduardo, Bendtner has been fantastic in all preseason games, infact one of the strongest players in the team in preseason. Why buy another youth player to rotate in when we have a half dozen people who need games in rotation to improve?

I actually really like him as well, seems the type of player though that you do need patience with and maybe a manager to put an arm around him and give him the confidence to express his natural game - how many cliché's were there in that sentence :p

I think had he gone to Arsenal instead of Liverpool he'd be an incredible player by now, alas Rafa has his favourites and if you're not one of them he wont persist with you

I agree with that; my biggest criticism of Rafa is his inability to bring through youngsters. When he does give them a chance they're always the wrong ones as well; why keep playing El Zhar on the right wing when you could bring on Babel instead and let him reach his potential??

Babel's a sprinter with a bit of strength and a hard shot. He's lacking in all other departments especially vision and work ethic. He's 22 and the potential we saw when he first arrived hasn't developed at all.

Lot of transfer activity today, Beye to Hull, Bassong to Spurs, Sinclair to Wigan, Wenger admitting he's in for Hangeland and confirming that he's interested in bringing back Vieira (joke that one IMO, I thought Wenger was more astute than that)
