By that do you mean we are trying to sign all 3 before the deadline or 1/2 of 3?

I'm going to guess its 2 out of the 3, with it being Turner, Distin and Villa. Silva wouldnt be too much of a suprise imo.

Close, Cattermole and Distin were the two he wants to bolster the squad.

Looks like it will be a really really late bid for a German by all accounts....

Thing is though we may never even hear of the bid. If the player isn't deemed for sale and they don't want to entertain bids then it all disappears.

Everton have been so 'angry' that City have bidded for Lescott yet have publicly dismissed each bid with a value. Lescott is for sale, just not at the price Everton have been offered.

Oh and in other news, Michael Ball (ex Man City player) got burgled this week but he isn't newsworthy :) :p
 
Damn. I can't even think of any German player we've been linked with. And like Burned Alive asked, is it either/or or are we looking to sign all 3?
 
That's the thing, I was like 'WHAT!?!?! But we haven't even been linked with him'.

Apparently he wants all three. You just never know though do you, it looked nailed on we were getting Owen back the year after we sold him to Madrid but the rest is history.

He is VERY blonde and VERY German though. Plays left wing I believe ;)

/edit GOD I just read the England squad. How has it come to the point when our four strikers are Peter Crouch,Wayne Rooney, Emile Heskey, Jermain Defoe and Carlton Cole...............

I guess that will be dependent on Dossena and Voronin (as a minimum) leaving then.

Rafa hinted at the start of the summer that he had little to spend but even on the basis of him being given nothing but the money for Keane's sale, we should still have ~£20m to spend. Even that would barely be enough for the first 2, let alone the blonde German.

Should be an interesting end to the transfer window though; outside of Real and City, there's not been much business done so far.
 
Based on average spend and ingoings/outgoings so far, we should still have about £30m to spend if required. Obviously, it may be well wide of the mark, but I wouldnt be suprised.

I honestly wouldn't be suprised if Rafa's been given nothing and has had to generate his own money.

Should still have the Alonso money available then really? The money must've already been there for Johnson, if Rafa was happy to keep Alonso regardless.

EDIT: I've forgotten about Aquilani already :p

Johnson was paid for with the money from Keane. We've since sold Alonso (£30m + 4m) and Arbeloa, Leto etc (~£8m) and signed Aquilani (£16-20m). We should still have ~£20m left, anything extra is a bonus.
