I know they were injured but i thought at least 1 of them was due back for the tottenham game?

If so im actually not looking forward to our first game at the moment.

Thats all I see from Traore, lazy/stupid defensively, against one team or another, despite easily being able to outpace the winger he just assumed it was going out and the guy outran him and got the cross in. Its that lazyness in defence that will cost us, he should never play there. He could be a winger, but he'll never be close to first team, is he going to play instead of Nasri, Arshavin, Eduardo, Vela, RVP, Bendtner, Wilshire, Rosicky, not a chance so why not ship him off already.

Merida WAS superb in the Emirates cup, he was involved all over, he was winning the ball back, getting back, drifting everywhere getting involved in most of the play very well, lots of very clever passing, one snap shot going wide is just a little overly critical.

I'm getting so bored of Arsenal fans who seem to jump on any mistake a player makes whatsoever. Trying to do something means you'll make mistakes, Hleb never tried a damn thing, so never made mistakes, same goes for other players with their high pass rates etc, most of those regarded for their lack of mistakes are simply players who play it so safe they aren't a danger. I'd take a player who makes mistakes trying to win everything, than doesn't make mistakes but doesn't try.

Great players, infact I've never seen a great player afraid to make a mistake..... thinks back to the Henry/Pires penalty, they laughed it off and went on being the best players around. Henry wasn't actually that accurate, he missed a LOT of chances, but because he was never shy of shooting he still got goals and loads of them.

Im fed up of Arsenal fans repeating the same thing over and over throughout the whole summer

;)

Pessimism isn't a problem that I highlighted was it, likewise I'm the most positive about the majority of the squad and the only Arsenal fan on these boards, afaik, who thought we could/should have challenged last year had we dropped 3/4 players and started others who rode the bench all year.

As I said, I'm fed up with players who only nitpick to decide a player is worthless, in a preseason game Eboue was left wing and Rosicky tried to play into space but it hit Eboue basically in the back as the ball was too hard and should have been over the top. Somehow this was changed a solid performance into a terrible one because Eboue was unable to control a hard ball at hip height coming from directly behind him.

Merida had a SINGLE poor shot and somehow that sums up his performance as crap. Gallas got upset/frustrated ONCE and sat down AFTER THE GAME and now most Arsenal fans have decided he's constantly at risk of ruining a game by throwing a paddy and isn't good enough anymore. Toure had 2-3 bad games after back from Malaria, despite having the best season defensively of his career the year after Arsenal fans remember the 2-3 games and decide, he's not good enough anymore.

I don't dislike Song, Denilson or Diaby, all being put in the deep end and being made a joke of, but they simply aren't good footballers though two of them put in a lot of effort and work. Other people simply wrongly attack/criticise peoples characters constantly and falsely.

You must wear the biggest rose tinted glasses :)

Personally I think you are Eboues agent lol. You have been moaning about Song, Denilson, Diaby (not as much), Walcott and especially Wenger all the way through the summer and now you are critising other Arsenal fans for comments? No one elses opinion matters except yours and in your eyes thats the only one that is right. Bizarre little world you live in.

I find it strange that no one else has gone for some of the relegated teams players, they normally get picked apart as they go down.

Still hoping for that last day buying from Wenger to give us a little extra in reserve.

To be totally honest I didn't take much notice of him at Newcastle at all. Haven't heard a bad word said about him though, many to seem to rate him and apparently he's very quick, a few Spurs fans saying they remember him outpacing Lennon a few times! Big strong athlete at 6ft 2 so sounds promising.

Newcastle has probably been the best club for us to sign players from aswell, so omens are good so far :)

Bassong was shocking at the start of the season when we played him at lb. But he then claim his preferred possession as CB and started to put in really good performances.

More shocking is Newcastle made a amzing profit lol 5grand a week and transfer of 500k :D

I wouldnt mind Michael Turner, I actually quite rate him and would be interested to see what he could do in a bigger team. Having said that...there is no way in hell that I would pay £12m for him. Theres a lot of proven quality defenders we could get for £12m.

Do you reckon the senderos sale could be a ploy by wenger? He might see everton as the more direct competitors and if the senderos potential sale could pursuade them to sell lescott, with him then pulling out of it, they could be in a bad place..

Just since it seems to have died down now..

Well I cant remember Wenger confirming the transfer as in talks but I havent read anything about him denying it either. I am hoping he stays. If the Lescott deal goes through then I think it will happen though if Senderos wants first team this year.

Personally i think he would be first team by the end of the season if he stayed and then when Gallas goes we just need another for backup. If he leaves then we need another few CBs. :(

Liverpool.
I'm going to be really dissapointed if we dont sign another attacking player. :(

Me too. Thanks to the way that Kuyt and Benayoun played last season, I don't think we desperately need somebody to walk straight into the side but I do think we're short of numbers in the attacking positions in our squad.

With Agger's back problem, we do need another defender too though.

Just had a few drinks with a Liverpool player after the game today. He told me about 3 players we are after, 2 of which are totally common knowledge and we were both 'meh' about them.

The other one I thought we had no chance of signing but apparently Rafa has sounded senior player out about and it's all guns blazing to get this guy in before kick off...

We shall see!
