**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Where have you proven he signed before the game?

And even so, he served TWO games registered as a NEWCASTLE player.
I have never said he wasn't registered as a Newcastle player. Below is my initial post which you decided to argue with, everything I have said there has been proven to be spot on yet it's taken you all this time to realise or admit it.

I also said fair play to Spurs for taking advantage of it too so I'm really not sure what your problem is.

As for where have I proven he signed; read my previous posts. There is an article from your official site, taken from Saturday where it pictures Bassong in a Spurs training shirt finding it hard to keep a smile of his face after completing his move :p

edit: and Necastle played on the Sunday if you didn't already know.
He signed for you before completing his suspension but you delayed his registration so he could play. Technicalities over common sense as usual from the FA

Indeed, technically he was a Newcastle player, and served his two match ban.

He then, after serving the ban, became a registered Spurs player.

That's nothing to do with common sense, he was a Newcastle player, didn't play, and now moves to Spurs.

edit, Spurs if anything were just been clever, and avoiding him missing a game for them.

Wouldn't be the first time the site got it wrong with sloppy article writing. :p

Just defending that we played everything by the book. :)

Harry has changed his ways. :D

(Partly due to Levy being the one handling the business end of all transfers.)

Anyway, Spurs 1 - 1 Liverpool

Gerrard 52
Pavlyuchenko 78

I didn't say Spurs done anything wrong and again, I even said fair play to them for taking advantage of it. My post was simply highlighting the incompetence of the FA.

The comment about Redknapp was tongue in cheek, although I'm not convinced he's changed his ways.

You really have an issue with reading and understanding things Tummy.

He may have still been registered with the FA to play for Newcastle but wasn't a Newcastle player when Newcastle played WBA. Spurs had completed the signing by then (as announced on their official site) however had not completed his registration to play for them.

Everybody knew he was a Spurs player and even Spurs fans on here pointed out that they should have waited so that his suspension was completed while still at Newcastle, unaware that Spurs could get around that due to the technicality that he wasn't registered to play for them at that time.

He was a registered player for Newcastle. Not Spurs.

He served his ban, as he was still registered with Newcastle, not Spurs.

It's a technicality that means he's able to start in the opening game for Spurs.

Spurs, were just been clever.

I'll say it again, you really have an issue with reading and understanding things.

What you've just said is what I've been saying all along.

This is the Japanese guy, Keisuke Honda, who Liverpool have been linked with. Can't tell that much from the video, but he's apparently a left sided attacking midfielder. Looks like he has a great free kick on him (look at the one at 4:15 in the video, absolutely stunning) but you can't tell a lot else!
Theres probably nothing in that story, but it would be a very wise decision financially to bring in a top name Japanese player. Having a Japanese player in the PL would generate a lot of £ from the support we'd get over there.

0.08-0.11

Looks like he should link up well with Torres.

I think you mean Alonso. ;)

He seems to have a bizarre technique of kicking the ball. Only he manages to generate so much power into it, I would call it awful. It's almost like he scoops it awkwardly with his foot. :D

Doubt there's much to the link to be honest.

Weird, not a lot you can do when a player wants to go. Take the money now or wait 12 months and get less, much less.

He's on half what city are offering, he wants a piece of the money. I can't see this being the end of it.

Breaking on SSN that Everton have rejected a transfer request from Lescott.

It's a shame what little loyalty there is in the game nowadays. You could understand if it was one of the top four clubs and he was itching to move - but Man City...

With all respect to them, they're going to have a tough time breaking into the top four. Particularly with the likes of Villa and Everton knocking around to pounce on any slip up made by Arsenal, United, Liverpool or Chelsea.

In fairness I think City will overtake Everton and Villa with comparitive ease once Hughes has gone. At that point sights will be set on Arsenal/Liverpool.
