Well their careers havent.
With Barry and Milner Villa have gone down hill massively. Both are still in the England team.
Lescott is now a regular in the England team and is now part of a top 4 club.
Dzeko has joined a top 4 club and has the chance to become a well known international striker.

Do I really need to refer to my last post? Yes they have in terms of their form all of the players I mentioned have gone backwards since joining City.

Well according to the Daily Fail it seems so.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...earout--Arshavin-Clichy-Bendtner-Gonners.html

Looks like Clichy, Bender and Arshavin will be going...not too sure on Arshavin as i think hes still a good player...Bender ive never had any confidence in and Clichy has been out of sorts this season.

Personally the other players mentioned ie Eboue, oh dear DM will have an epileptic fit if he goes:p...Denilson, Almunia, Diaby and Rosicky are the ones id be looking to sell as all of them are near enough useless.

Anyhow im taking it with a pinch of salt as usual as its the Daily Fail but it would be great if Wenger got rid of our deadwood in the club this summer.

I've said Eboue should go for years, treated like turd by Wenger.

Arsenal will just get worse if Wenger is allowed to clear out the deadwood, according to him.

Problem is, Eboue, Bendtner, Arshavin are massively, I mean massively better than the likes of Diaby, Denilson, Sagna, etc, etc.

Eboue makes no sense at Arsenal, he's on a high wage, doesn't get played, and is very good. Wengers throwing money down the drain having any player on those wages play 5 games a season, its a joke. Either play him or get someone cheaper in. Considering Eboue plays central mid for his country, and all of 2-3 times absolutely brilliantly for Arsenal, I'd have moved him to DM years ago and sold the utterly worthless players in the squad. Thing is, if he doesn't think Eboue is good enough(yet thinks Sagna is) then why can't he see keeping someone on that high a wage not playing is a terrible business decision. He doesn't seem to care in the slightest how much we throw away on wages, as long as transfer fee spending is low.

Who the hell would trust Wenger to ditch the deadwood when he, by choice plays Diaby and Denilson over so many far far better players that we have.

Arshavin gets treated like rubbish by our fans, and Bendtner, again gets treated like crap by the fans, and Wenger, gets a huge wage yet barely gets a league game, whats the point.

I've said for ages, we have an embarassingly large squad and so many players who barely get a game all year, and thats before you take into account the sicknotes we have.

A new manager for a sane viewpoint then a clearing out, see Diaby, Denilson, Song, Sagna, Squillaci, Kos, Chamakh, Almunia.

The problem is with Wenger in charge I can see Bendtner, Eboue, Arshavin, Clichy(maybe), Vela all going, which mostly is the exact wrong way.

I have zero trust in Wenger, to sell the worst players or bring in the right players anymore.

Was hoping for another Spaniard, especially if the reputed price for De Gea is even slightly accurate as it seems close enough to what Liverpool would probably extort for Riena anyway.

Would Reina join you? Highly unlikely. Would we sell to you? **** off :p

I'm wondering whether United/Fergie think likewise so haven't even entertained the idea of putting a bid in?

I dont see why we dont test the water with an enquiry, especially after you took the **** putting an offer in for Heinze ;)

Of course it could just be a case of Fergie not wanting him :o

I know the United/Livermule transfer history wouldn't make it promising, but Reina would've joined us in a heartbeat. I cite any media interview since January regarding his 'future' at Liverpool. Yes, he's very professional about it, but it doesn't take a genius to read between the lines.

Not saying he mightn't end up staying, but a big offer coming in from United especially in January and maybe even this Summer? You think the history would hold him back from being weighed down with medals and glory at United? Come on.

I cant keep up with this, Atletico now confirming they've accepted our bid and all that remains is personal terms with the player

If you were interested in him, I have no doubt that with the agents involved and the tapping up that goes on, you would have already sounded him out about the move before wasting your time making an enquiry to us.

Also you've got to look at the economics of spending ~£20m on a 21 year old and spending ~£20m on a 28 year old. Providing both signings were to work out and they played until they're 35, the 28 year old keeper would have cost you twice as much (~£1.4m per year compared with ~£2.8m per year). And if the signings don't work out and are sold on after 2 years, the younger keeper is likely to have a greater resale value too.

The days of signing players purely on ability are over. I remember an article specifically about Utd's transfer policy shortly after you signed Berbatov:; it said that Berbatov was the last signing of his type, the Glazers were no longer going to sanction big money signings for players in their late 20's and that all signings had to make financial sense.

I seriously doubt he'd join you. Even Judas didn't consider joining you.
That's funny, I seem to remember a quote from the man herself quite a well back essentially ruling out every other big club in Premiership except United. Irony of his current position aside (yes, he did rule out Chelsea), he obviously kept options open and at the very least considered us upon his initial entry to Anfield as we had an offer in with him too at the time.

On Torres we really should have did everything to get him before he went to Liverpool, I get the feeling we gave up on that one far too easily

Good point I guess :)
