** Summer Transfer Window 2011/12 Season Rumours/Signings **

Yep, apparently we agreed a fee in the summer and the player changed his mind late on and decided he wanted another season at Dortmund, actually an excellent decision in hindsight, his price will have doubled too now.

Looks like there's going to be a big overhaul of Liverpool's squad in the summer. Both Comolli and Henry have recently spoke about making looking to make big improvements to the squad and how it's going to be a busy window for us. It's not a surprise really; of the 6 senior players we signed last summer, 5 have been **** and will need to be replaced in the summer.

I can see all of Jones, Konchesky, Kyrgiakos, Poulsen, Aquilani, Jovanovic and Cole leaving as well as possibly Aurelio (if we can get rid), N'gog, Maxi and maybe even Agger if a big enough offer comes in (his injury problems are becoming a nightmare).

Based on that, I can see us signing a CB (2 if Agger goes), at least 1 LB but probably 2 (even if Aurelio stays), 2 wingers/attacking midfielders (maybe 3 if Maxi goes), at least 1 CM but quite possibly 2 CM's and possibly another striker if N'gog goes.

We've been linked with near enough everbody so it's anybody's guess who we're actually in for but it looks like we've all but signed Marveaux (french winger) on a bosman.

Hearing that Sylvain Marveaux has signed a pre-contract agreement with us. Never seen the lad player although as always youtube makes him look like a superstar from set pieces. Like the articles been popping up with regarding to certain players being linked etc and the club pushing for talented youth.

I am REALLY not sure about marveaux, I mean he has played, what, 50 games in the past 3 years? and he is coming to a league where you are likely to play 50 games in a single year. I have real concerns over his ability to handle the epl when he has played so little football in the last 3 years.

In 5 seasons at Rennes he's had 2 injury hit seasons. Were they one offs or is he a crock? I don't know but on a bosman you can afford to take a chance I guess.

Wenger to wield the axe this summer??

Well according to the Daily Fail it seems so.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...earout--Arshavin-Clichy-Bendtner-Gonners.html

Looks like Clichy, Bender and Arshavin will be going...not too sure on Arshavin as i think hes still a good player...Bender ive never had any confidence in and Clichy has been out of sorts this season.

Personally the other players mentioned ie Eboue, oh dear DM will have an epileptic fit if he goes:p...Denilson, Almunia, Diaby and Rosicky are the ones id be looking to sell as all of them are near enough useless.

Anyhow im taking it with a pinch of salt as usual as its the Daily Fail but it would be great if Wenger got rid of our deadwood in the club this summer.

It's been confirmed via twitter and an interview with PIG that he will be leaving United at the end of the season - the lad wants first team football, and I can't blame him really.

Did us well when he played. Don't blame him at all, was very happy with him as a 2nd keeper but wouldn't have the confidence for him to be our no 1 keeper. Good luck to him.

Also confirms if there was any doubt that we will be signing a keeper in the summer - god news :)

Well pretty much the only position we knew Fergie was going to make a signing for was in goal. With VDS going neither Lindegaard nor PIG are quite right for the job. I suppose with PIG saying he's going and VDS retiring it pretty much confirms that Fergie will be signing a new GK. This time, of course, Fergie has the experience of what happened to us post Schmeichel - pre VDS. We just couldn't find the right player to play in goal. I think Fergie will sign the best GK he can to make sure that the VDS to new GK change is as seamless as possible for the team. :)

It's going to be interesting to see who we get in really. I'm not sure it will be De Gea like everyone seems to think.

I've not seen enough of any of our rumored keepers play - but would people be confident with them stepping in as No.1 right away?

EDIT: I think it's also a bit too early to judge Andres just yet as to whether he is No.1 quality, surely?

I didn't know this previously but Guillem Balague seems to think a fee has been agreed with Madrid over De Gea, so if true our new no 1 will be younger than our no 2 (Lindegaard)

I still think Reina is the most obvious VDS replacement

Agreed IIRC he's played one game so far and did well, not sure where any doubts over him come from tbh

In the interview he said that is his preference as he has a point to prove, he doesn't however want to be at a low club fighting for relegation (said he experienced it at Wigan) and that if offers from abroad come along that's a better team etc he will take that.

And Balague is pretty spot on with stuff like this?

If we take the whole Liverpool - Man Utd rivalry out of the way I agree. Reina is a player that is already in the same league as us so we know he can handle it. Liverpool are a big club so he can handle pressure. He speaks English and probably wouldn't have to move, or move far, if he signed for Utd. As long as Reina says he wants to join us and we can sign him for a decent fee then I think Fergie should do all he can to sign him. But if Liverpool refuse to negotiate because of the rivalry then De Gea or Stekelenburg are the two obvious replacements I can think of. :)

I wonder if PIG will go to another premiership team, he's certainly good enough.
Well we did sign him from West Brom. I always thought we signed him because he kept us out in a 2-2 draw wasn't it? :p

Change your sig :p

@MarcLister, he was spot on with the Torres transfer, probably because he told him at the wc we wouldn't compete for 5 years at the top level :p.

Hope you're right Baz, Agger is one of my favourite players, but if we need to shift him on for 2 quality CBs I'd do it, sucks he's so injury prone, class player and class act.
