Stefan Savic outside City ground. They're going to have a nice selection of defenders there now!

Never heard of Savic but I read on one forum he was useless last season :o

Still any unknown defender on paper is better than Lescott :p

Had a Trial at Arsenal a few years ago, it wasn't successful. Man City could almost field a full side of players with Arsenal links!

Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko insists there is no truth in reports linking him with a return to Russia with Anzhi Makhachkala.

The 29-year-old joined Spurs in a £14million deal from Spartak Moscow three years ago but has only impressed in fits and spurts during his time at the north London club.

Pavlyuchenko's indifferent form has seen him regularly linked with a move away from White Hart Lane and Russian Premier League outfit Anzhi are the latest destination to be mentioned.

The likes of Roberto Carlos, Diego Tardelli and Balazs Dzsudzsak have been tempted to ply their trade at the Dagestan club in recent times but Pavlyuchenko insists rumours that he will follow suit are untrue.

"I don't even know who needs [this gossip], who's doing it all, who's writing it," he said, according to ITV Sport.

"It's all untrue that I'm going to continue my career at Anzhi. It's obviously total rubbish."

Despite dismissing the speculation, Pavlyuchenko did allude to the fact that he is becoming frustrated with his predominant bench role at Harry Redknapp's side.

"When the time comes for a change, an offer would be good and I will agree to it," he added.

"But for the time being it's hard for me to say what tomorrow will bring."

Owen Hargreaves has made some youtube videos apparently. Seems a bit like the brochure that Michael Owen made a few years ago.

Hell if he has any semblance of fitness I would take him at Arsenal on a pay-as-you play.

I doubt Schweinsteiger would ever come to England unless it was for a holiday. He plays for the best team in the Bundesliga, Dortmund might have upset them this year but Bayern are probably the only team in that league who go into each season expecting to win the title and the Deutscher Pokal. He's pretty much guaranteed Champions League football every season, he plays in an excellent national side, his friends and family all live there and Munich are a massive club who can afford to pay him huge wages. Who would leave a much cleaner, nicer Germany to live in England? He's already in a top tier club.

Starts with an E and ends with an E;)

Read above;)

Your very naive to think that...Real dont need him but if they want him they will take him....not so sure about Barca as they are after Fabregas but they may very well take the bait as long as Real dont get him.

Ill be seething mad if City or Utd get Nasri...by all means let the little french mercenery go but not to our rivals....

the money is not there from when they spent a few years back, real have an amazing array of midfield talent, and im sure you know barca do as well. no way there is 20mil going spare for a squad player. not naive at all! its educated understanding of money.

to potentially be the midfielder to add the last little bit to a CL winning side - and probably one to beat Barca (whoever that side may be)

(he may be good enough for Barca themselves, but I cant see them being interested just because of who they already have rather than him being worse or anything)

The BL maybe a good competition but it may not be the best - which is surely either in Spain or England (depending on each players preference)

Him playing in England wouldnt necessarily stop him playing for the National side - if he is good enough and playing every week (which undoubtedly he is) then he would get in and potenially improve faster.......

Apparently Fulham wanting John Arne Riise to replace Salcido (home sick or something). Would be a great signing for us, especially as he has one year left - and we have his brother, so probably lower his wages for that.

Bit annoyed about Clichy leaving for such a cut price to MC (assuming it was ~£7m as reported), surely we should be bleeding that fat cat dry. Less than half the price of Kolarov, cheaper than Wayne Bridge, seemed very cheap for a 25 year old with that much Prem experience, winners medal etc going to a rival club that has previous for paying big fees. At the very least we should have demanded Given in part exchange.

I haven't felt this low about an upcoming season in a long time. Typical Wenger though, once he decides he's had enough from a great player he often lets them go on the cheap.
