** Summer Transfer Window 2011/12 Season Rumours/Signings **

As I mentioned it wasn't something I said. I'm just fed up of people only seeing negatives, when other clubs have done very little in the transfer market, when it's only been open 8 days.

And look what happened last season, Arsenal released a statement saying Cesc was not for sale at any price, and what happened, the papers continued with the stories, so why say anything? Did Spurs do the same thing yesterday, and look rumours just carry on!

Arsenal have been linked with plenty of players this summer, Hazard, Benzema etc, but perhaps the club doesn't like to air it's laundry in public?

Oh reports are that Essien has done his cruciate ligament.

thats because, firstly Spurs ALWAYS say a players not for sale, then they sell said player. Arsenal have a consistant record of making promises to players to keep them another year, then watching them walk out the door next year.

City have only signed one player, if that was correct that would be useful, but they've signed two players and put in offers for other players in other positions, which gives a pretty good indication of where they are trying to improve, should the fail to get one player, will they give up on that position, no, they'll bring in someone else.

Real have signed a few players, including the player voted best in the german league last season. Bayern have signed a bunch of players, though several youths in that.

Man Utd have signed 3 players, 2 might be under 20, one of those has won a Uefa cup and proven to be very very good, he isn't your average under 20 year old. Age has nothing to do with ability, all 3 of Utd's signings would WALK into our first team, so to pretend they haven't strengthened is laughable.

You're making excuses, Arsenal fans are NOT WORRIED by lack of transfers, we're worried by the direction of the club over SIX YEARS, Wengers dodgey transfer dealings over years and the fact that Arsenal need the biggest turn around of the top 4, all things you've conveniently ignored.

Utd won the league last year, and have won, 4 of the last 5 titles, and Chelsea 3 of the last, 7 off the top of my head, theres been champs league wins, finals, for both teams there etc, etc.

Arsenal do not need a level transfer window compared to Utd, we need a large improvement over any improvements Utd make, and Chelsea, and City.

Fabregas is the player who has been dragging Arsenal through games for years, winning games when everyone else has underperformed and massively made up for the declining quality around him. Losing Cesc is FAR worse for Arsenal than frankly any other top 8 club losing any single player.

Again you're ignoring every other transfer window to push your point.

Lets review history shall we, Arsenal for years have been big girls in the transfer window, unable to both attract the best players, nor willing to spend for them. Do Chelsea, City or Utd have that reputation? So while you're pretending nothing has happened yet, every other sane person on the planet knows City, and Chelsea will strengthen, Utd already have, and seem intent on going further and no one, at all, believes Arsenal can either replace Cesc, anyone who actually watches Nasri play will HOPE we don't make him the best payed player at Arsenal, and that Arsenal can't offer the wages or the attraction of bringing in the very best players, which will make it pretty hard to improve.

But yeah, everything is great so far.

Lastly, the transfer window has NOT only been open for 8 days, but don't let that stop you.

Not transfer news but Essien has apparently suffered a pretty serious knee injury in training, people jumping on the cruciate angle which would probably rule him out for the entire season.

Injuries have ruined that guys career, looked so good at Lyon, never looked all that at Chelsea though

Karma's a bitch! :o

Apart from last season Essien has been brilliant for Chelsea

He's not just had 1 poor season though. He's been at Chelsea 6 seasons now and his first season aside, he's done little to nothing to justify being regarded as an excellent CM, let alone world class like some still say.

He's injury prone, doesn't offer enough going forward and his defensive positioning is poor too. He's a decent player but very limited.

looks like chelsea have zero chance of winning anything then as they will be relying on Mikel to do Essien's job, they should buy Diarra or Cambiasso tbh.

Mikel isn't that bad. He gets way too much stick because he's made the odd mistake here and there but most players have.

Unless of course you know better than professional football managers based on what you've seen on FIFA 11, in which case... :o

Mikel's a very good player. Can protect the ball brilliantly and rarely gives the ball away. We'll need some cover for him though now if Essien is out all season =\.

£34M then. I'd pay £39M as I think he could be a godsend for our midfield setup, as he's still only 27. Unfortunately prices this year aren't what thy used to be...

he isn't good enough to be in a champions league winning side, do you not understand abromovich wants to win the champions league, thats why he fire's managers who have won the league but fail in europe every year.

essien is good enough for a champions league winning side mikel ain't
