Summer Transfer Window 2017/18 - Rumours & Signings

I'm not sure how winning the FA Cup or CL would have any bearing on their performances in the PL

Suarez's individual performance in the 13/14 season was as good as anything we've seen. Equalled the League scoring record despite missing the first 5 games through suspension, done so without taking a single penalty (I'm sure the others all scored at least 4-5 pens in their total) and had the most or 2nd most assists in the League (which none of the others would have come close).

Selling Wimmer and Jansssen for £30m and signing Aurier for £25m seems like some terrible business.

Wimmer and Janssen are both really valuable backup players where we have limited depth and we already have trippier as a first choice RB.

Winning the treble by default means every player in the team has had a very good if not excellent EPL performance (because it was won as part of the treble)

Its not that complicated

Did anyone really expect Arsene to buy 2 top players in one window? No hope for this season at all. Giving someone a new contract who has got progressively worse results utilising the same transfer and playing ethos year after year is mental. All the top clubs are buying multiple players to progress. How can any intelligent person think adding 1 player to a side which is already well behind is going to make any difference. So depressing! After what he been saying you'd think maybe he'd try to shake things up a bit.

That's really impressive, must have been great for him to lift the title after contributing so much that season.

Ah yes, because a player can't be as good or better than a player that won the League. Where did Utd finish last season? Their entire squad must be rubbish.

True, don't forget Kane was rubbish last season too despite being top scorer!

I'm a United fan and of course everyone played well in the Treble Season but i wouldn't take the view that a single player hasn't individually had a fantastic season despite not having success with a team. As you say Suarez was an animal that season (literally, including eating people!)

Lol

Delighted Zlatan is back, we'll have a lot of games this season and he's always useful, on and off the pitch. He'll be wearing the No. 10 shirt.

I'd love to know the terms of this deal. He's not likely to feature before January, is he? You've got to assume Utd are paying him peanuts in terms of a basic wage with lots of appearance related bonus's.

Zlatan's situation serves as a warning to the likes of Ox and Sanchez should Arsenal not sell them this window. One injury at the end of the season could prove extremely costly.

Nobody has mentioned it, I wouldn't be surprised if it's more than peanuts, even if he's not playing at the moment.

He's 4 months into recovery, and it usually takes about 8. I think he's ahead of schedule though, he was doing roundhouse kicks on a boxing bag a couple of weeks ago. :p
