Summer Transfer Window 2017/18 - Rumours & Signings

The total value of the Lukaku deal (to Utd) is being reported as £100m. £75m up front with a further £15m in add-ons (easily attainable add-ons supposedly) plus Rooney, who's being valued at £10m. Who are they trying to kid with that Rooney value. I suspect he's being valued at that both to allow Everton to say they got their £100m valuation, so that Utd aren't being seen as having to give Rooney away but it's also beneficial to Everton in the short-term from a FFP point of view to record a larger profit on the sale of Lukaku.

Couple of fantastic additions to the team. All we need now is a prolific striker. Afobe has been bounced around abit; would love to see him back!

Not to jinx it but I stuck a cheeky £10 e/w @ 16/1 to win league before these signings :D

Sky are saying the paid Rooney £15m to leave for his pay cut. Not sure that's in the cost for add ons or not.

For £100m I would hope his attitude changes. A couple of seasons ago you got one of the best players in the world for those prices...

...now you get Lukaku lol

Good player but not sure value for money.

Any pay-off Utd give Rooney won't be the add-ons Utd are to pay Everton. It's possible that the £10m valuation on Rooney is what Utd are paying him to leave (with Everton picking up the remaining £100k per week or so). A £15m pay off seems ott - that's effectively his entire wage for the last year of his deal. They may as well keep him if they're going to be paying his wages in full.

I don’t want him near our starting 11.

And a keeper... Looks Like Ruddy has signed, hopefully announced later

But yeah a striker is badly needed, wouldnt say no to Afobe coming back either

If searching since the forum changes was easier I'd dig up the chat when Rooney signed this contract. I got slaughtered for saying it was madness and there was no way he'd age well.

I wouldn't be surprised if United wanted to hold onto him for the the historical/record breaking aspect and Fergie decided to take early retirement rather than have that mistake on his name. There's too much commercial involvement in football nowadays.
