Summer Transfer Window 2021/2022

Haaland will have a longer career as he is the more intelligent player akin to Zlatan, Cavani, Ronaldo etc.

Mbappe is a poor man's Michael Owen. (Owen was better in his prime).

Who was that Senegal lad Liverpool bought because of the world cup, James Rodriguez, Renato Sanchez, Karol Poborsky. All had excellent tournies but ended up duds.

Diouf

Sanches is only 23 and has played well at Lille and won the French title. Bit harsh to call him a dud.

Your Mbappe shout is laughable tbh

You are telling me you would take him over prime Michael Owen? Mbappe's figures are mostly stat padded from the French League where a man of his pace can have a whale of a time.

Really need to see Mbappe in a real league before we can comment. He was poor in the Euro's.

Right now? Mbappe for me as he can play any position across the front three which would suit Klopp.

If Mbappes figures are stat padded then I assume Haalands are aswell? Neither leagues are of any great quality.

27 goals and 17 assists in the champions league AND a world cup winner (winning the best young player award) yet he's a poor mans Michael Owen? Poor Euros sure, the French team in general weren't particularly great and there rumours of yet another spat behind the scenes. He was at least there however Haaland (by all accounts as lets face it no one is watching it) stunk the place out in the qualifier vs Serbia then did it again vs Turkey in the world cup qualifier.

You are massively disrespecting Mbappe here tbh.

Edit.

I think Haaland is brilliant by the way.

What criteria are we using to state the german league is weak? Just curious, because we can say Messi stats are even more padded considering how weak that league has been for his time there for competition. I'd take either over Owen for the record :)

Pretty much this. Why I will always rate Ronaldo over Messi. You have to do it in the best league in the world aka the Premier League for anything to be valid.

It is in the same way I would take Shearer over Kane for England as he did it where it mattered. Not scoring 5 goals against San Marino.

Look what happened to both Suarez and Ronaldo when they left the prem. Their stats went through the roof.

At least there's competition to win the league in France for a start. I said neither were of any great quality beyond a few teams.

Suarez equalled the premier league record in the premier league scoring 31 goals so im not sure about that measurement. You can also use the champions league and world cup imo.

Don't buy a player based on one tournament. The guy managed 2 goals and 4 assist last season.

Yeah but the flip side of that is that Sampdoria arent a brilliant side and maybe in the Italy team we see what he can do with better players around him and he's still only 20 (19 last season) so his value and abilities can increase a lot yet. A 35m outlay currently could prove a bargain

spain have had more CL and EL winners this last decade than the PL. showing the depth. Just blatantly ruling out guys like Messi, Neymar, Benz, Lewa because they haven’t scored against Brighton or West Ham is laughable.

Does it? Or does it just show that the two biggest teams have had the ability to get there year in year out without interruption due to the weakness of the league and becoming incredibly rich at the right time? I've often seen people dismiss leagues as mickey mouse etc but how is that rated. I don't think it should be on champions league wins but rather on the standard of competition within the league and how often other teams get a look in. Then again that's also flawed for so many different reasons.

It's such a hard thing to quantify, I mean if United fans really think the German league is lower level than say the French or Spanish league then they must be a little concerned Sancho won't make the step up ;) It's also odd that year after year the Germans keep producing world class talent.

That could be said about the Premiership, the standard outside the top 1 this year was all over the place. Everton were utterly awful but in with a shout of top4 almost until the end. Last year only two teams were of any quality. Usually this is true most years.

Last 5 seasons in the PL has had 3 different winners. It would have gone down to the final two games had United not thrown it away.

In regards to last season, it was a freak of a season and I wouldnt read too much into it
