Summer Transfer Window 2021/2022

well if you believe what you read Kane believes he has a gentleman’s agreement he can leave this summer…

It will just get real messy. Levy is the kind of guy who would totally cut of his nose to spite his face.

Also surely City cannot spend 200+ Million this window and get away with it?

There is no such a thing as a gentleman's agreement when it comes to money.

GET IT IN WRITING!

This really otherwise it all just boils down to a he said/didnt say thing. Really when he renegotiated his contract last time he should have put some sort of trophy clause in the contract, like he can leave if Spurs havent won X in X years or something

Gotta feel for nuno in all of this

He needs to know if he has a striker to start the league with or not

also what a great example he’s showing as current england captain

The question is what that agreement was. I would be floored if Levy said "yeah of course you can leave next year if you want to". I wouldn't be surprised if he said "We are happy to let you leave if our valuation is met and you want to go". Very very different and Levy will value him at a crazy amount.

City need deleting if they bring Kane in as well and don't offset it considerably with the sale of players. Fraud Fair Play is a joke, pretty sure they are still under investigation?

If they buy Kane and Grealish then it makes a mockery of any semblance of an equal playing field. Although rumour is it’ll be Kane or Grealish, not both.

And to think people used to complain about Chelsea and Abramovichs wad

People used to complain about United, ignoring our academy and the money came from revenue.

I'm surprised City don't get more hate for what they've done to the league, ABUs still buzzing about that last minute Aguero goal to deny United on the final day, I suppose.

I honestly don't think its good when any team dominates a league financially or by other means. Its not good for the Bundasliga and its not good for the PL. It wasn't good when United were financially dominant either. I enjoyed it as a United fan but competition is what makes things exciting.

basically this and why was he signing such a long contract in the first place... although if he wants out they need to look at moving on but good luck to anyone negotiating with levy

Because thats how contracts work. The club won't give you the salary you want unless you sign for a term they are happy with and the player wants to maximise his earning potential. This is where agreements and clauses come in. The player signs a deal giving him a better wage and guaranteeing that he could stay at the club for say 5 years at a given wage but perhaps leave if the right offer comes and the club has a player who is either theirs for the next 5 years or they get the maximum fee for him because any club that buys him is going to pay X amount and not be able to say "come on, hes only got one year left.

See Pogba. He has one year left so he either leaves on a free next summer and gets super high wages elsewhere along with probably and signing on bonus or he signs on a huge contract at United to keep him happy and protect their asset. The power dynamic between club and player is rarely equal.

@fez I get that but clearly he didn't insist on such a clause. If he knew in his mind he wanted out if he didn't win silverware in x years then don't sign a long term contract if they won't insert such a clause. Kane only has himself to blame

Kane is looking after number 1, same as anyone else would do if they knew they were in high demand. No point anyone getting annoyed about it, it’s happened a lot previously and will happen many more times in the future.

What's being England captain got to do with setting an example? Look at how Rooney bent Utd over when it came to getting pay rises.

Kane can't win, stays at Spurs and he's called unambitious but looks to leave and he's called a turn coat, footballers have such a short career they have to earn as much as possible, lets face it he's not got a future as a pundit when he retires has he? although if Micah Richards can I guess anyone can.

Kane could have won but he signed an absolutely retarded 5 year deal. I mean who seriously does that at a club like Spurs.

I honestly cannot see him leaving Spurs. Levy will not back down and will just stick him the reserves.

Has he even made a transfer request? I don't think so. Not turning up to training if true has absolutely no defense. It's pathetic, unprofessional and incredibly disrespectful to the club and the fanbase.

Start by not signing a 6 year contract at Spurs, crazy decision that. Have an actual agent who’ll get things done, not a job for your brother.

I do not understand the obsession in England about the England captain and their role. It’s not like rugby where they actual have to have a captains role. Others can lead as well etc just give it to the player with most caps.

regarding FFP, it’s there to keep the big clubs happy so they don’t lose their power with oil/state clubs. I don’t see what difference it makes if someone is putting their own money in to the club to fund transfers. It should be to protect clubs to stop Bury collapsing etc
