This sort of situation really makes me even more puzzled as to what the point of contracts are. Kane has 3 years left on his contract, a contract he agreed to. Now a contract does mean a club is "able" to value a player higher when it comes to accepting a bid on them but what happens when the club doesnt want to sell the player and has them contractually obliged to be their player for x number of years. If a player can just say well I'm not playing for you anymore regardless of the contract, doesnt that make the contract rather worthless. I mean what would happen if Spurs said no, we are not selling you, if you refuse to play then fair enough, you're 28, you will sit on the sidelines now until you're 31 and you can kiss goodbye to representing England at the World cup as you wont have played a single match
