He's been there 21 years, you don't think it's acceptable he's upset to be leaving, regardless of the circumstances?Let's not fall for the crocodile tears, he was all set to leave 12 months prior until he read his contract and couldn't leave.
This was my understanding, it's not possible for him to play for nothing at this point. His contract expired on 1st July so he's a free agent and Barcelona would have to register him again which they can't do unless they get their wage bill down.

PSG's starting 11 is going to be ridiculous this season, champions league or bust.
Then why is he going to PSG. The guy has more than enough money to worry about anything for the next 10 generations of his family. If his love for the game is that strong why doesn't he challenge himself and come to the Prem?
I am 100% sure that Stevie G, Paul Scholes, Alan Shearer, Le Tissier would all play for free if they had too.
Not sure why you quoted me because I didn't infer anything about his desire for money or his love of the game. Then why is he going to PSG. Because they're broke.
Which kind of begs the question why were they signing new players when they can't afford them even without by far the biggest wage earner off their books?!
Were they really staking the whole house on the ESL that much?
and that's why they were all out at lunch for all that week. All of them. No they didn't keep receipts. And the restaurant was paid in cash so there's no credit card trail to say who paid. How is a 7 day meal unreasonable? Haven't you ever been taken to Monaco? I mean... err. It was the manilla envelope convention in the hotel and... they just had to see if it was something they wanted to start collecting, and err. Fancy a drink and a chance of a booth at the finals? Sorry Messi who?No dont be silly. Their chairman is on UEFAS board he wouldnt risk doing anything to jeopardise that.
No idea. Their finances are pretty ****ed though so it wouldn't be that big of a shock if they needed to clear more people out.Surely they can cope with just the Hakimi and Lukaku sales though? That's almost 200m euros.
Not to mention playing with one of your best buds and being managed by a friendThey absolutely wouldnt have played for free.
RE Messi coming to the prem. What are you picking...Manchester or Paris?

You are telling me that if Liverpool were in a situation like Barcelona is in now and prime Gerrard had to have a massive wage cut he wouldn't take it to stay at Liverpool? He had many offers but stayed loyal. Just like Paul Scholes.
Not to mention that Messi offered to take a massive pay cut!Youve gone from they would play for free to now saying take a pay cut
make your mind up
A massive wage cut is different to playing for free. And he'd already accepted a 50% cut.You are telling me that if Liverpool were in a situation like Barcelona is in now and prime Gerrard had to have a massive wage cut he wouldn't take it to stay at Liverpool? And even then Barca couldn’t register him as a player. They haven’t even registered Aguero or Depay yet! Their wage to income ratio is still way too high, like a million euros a week or more too high. They need to get rid of several highly paid players. Players like Coutinho and Griezmann need to be sold on the cheap to get them off the wage books.A massive wage cut is different to playing for free. And he'd already accepted a 50% cut.
