Summer Transfer Window 22/23

I know Liverpool are being a bit slow in the market but many fans seem really pee’d off. So much that FSGOUT is bizarrely trending on Twitter

Ornstein reporting that Liverpool are not buying anybody

Yeah but how can championship clubs afford that but EPL or La Liga clubs can't?

It doesn't make sense.

Crikey
The Sky Sports deal signed in 2018 (and coincidentally up for renewal soon) was for £595m over 5 seasons, with an additional £100m for all league clubs from the last Sky/BT Premier League deal as well. Some Championship clubs routinely have 25k+ gates for home games as well. Sure a £50k a week wage is likely the very top end of most clubs wages though.

Fans with very short memories. I can remember Hicks and Gillett and how close the club came to bankruptcy. And how poor our squad was at times too. FSG have always made us live within our means and helped with interest free loans to develop the new training centre and the stadium upgrades but fans seem to think that having some Middle East benefactor will suddenly make things better somehow. Klopp could always dip into the market, I don’t think finances are the issue. It’s getting the right player to compliment or improve the squad as it stands. Jurgen has shown time and time again if he can’t get the player he wants he won’t panic buy just for the sake of it. Yes he now sees a midfielder would be beneficial but not one who won’t be at least as good as what we have. What player will come realising that they’ll be a squad player, playing dead CL games and cups, knowing that as soon as Fab or Thiago is fit they’ll be right back on the bench?

He's on 28k per week.

Pellestri is on 20k

And Alaves took Pellestri last year in la liga (and this year in lig 2).

And Pellestri only has 1 league goal in his entire career. Brutal statistics.

It's the usual frothers that dont need any excuse - given ten Hag's probable 200m+ spend its got them knuckle dragging again.

Its because Liverpool have had such an awful couple of years. :p

How quickly fans forget how recently they used to be completely irrelevant.

I'm sure United fans will be the same if we get back to some semblance of what we used to be.

Liverpool twitter is full of lunatics Rob. FSGOUT has been a thing for most of the past 4 years, despite us winning countless trophies and racking up 90+ seasons almost every year.

All it took was two wins and everything is suddenly alright again for the majority.

Really?? I don’t bother much with Twitter so wouldn’t be any the wiser had you not posted. that’s utterly mental. Every team has some proper half witted fans.

Yeah, Liverpool Twitter really does scrape the bottom of the barrel - the paddy power ad about Liverpool online fans was right on the mark.

It's mad I know. Unfortunately too many twitter fans are more concerned with signing players than winning football matches, that coupled with the fact that there's loads of completely incorrect info being spouted regarding how much Liverpool pay on transfers and wages, leads to these children going mad on twitter.

Arsenal continue to be linked heavily with neto and zaha personally id prefer zaha
Palace are built to play to Zaha’s strengths. He failed in a big way that one season at United. Why does anyone else think he will succeed anywhere else where he’s not the main man? It’s like Grealish. Big fish, small pond at Villa, now a normal fish in the ocean at City and not exactly impressing.

Not surprising. It was the same during the earlier parts of Oles reign. As long as results are good the fans couldn't care less if you play like a sunday league team. Its bizarre.

Yeah, there is a reason he hasn't had a lot of suitors from top teams. Hes the sort of player that needs to be the main man, someone who can drift about as he pleases and as long as hes scoring goals that win them games hes lauded. At a top team he won't have that freedom and his output would drop off a cliff.

No one at CP cares if he loses the ball 10 times if he scores a goal. At the top teams he would be costing his teams more than he contributes.

Would a Liverpool be kind enough to answer these points please? I’m not trolling, I’m genuinely interested what other fans think

Ticket prices - yeah, it's high. It's a side effect of not having managed to move to a larger stadium, and goes to the point about FSG having us remain in our means. We can't spend what fans want us to spend, keep within our means, and not try to maximize revenue if the demand is there.

Furlough - loads of places furloughed staff. I'm confused about the problem here.

Trade mark - the uproar around this is basically a complete lack of understanding about how trade marks work (I'm a trade mark lawyer by day).

ESL - yeah, shocking, but no worse than all the other teams who did it. And if the ESL had gone ahead and we'd refused to join, how would fans have taken that in respect of lost revenue and likely less transfer sway?

Transfers - absolutely mad. Yes, we're more circumspect than City, United and Chelsea, but we've not got funds coming out of our ears, and it's been made up for by our recruitment strategy which is up there with the best.

Tickets - They wanted to raise the price of adult tickets in the main stand from £59 to £77 after it was refurbed- fans didn't like it, protested at a game (Sunderland from memory) with thousands walking out on the 77th minute. FSG reversed decision and tickets stayed at £59 - FYI its still that price now.
Furlough - Wanted to like others, listened to execs and stakeholders and changed track.
Trade Mark - As Manic said, much ado about nothing
ESL - Meh.
Transfers - We have a budget based on certain factors, it is what it is. Klopp knew it when he took over. Nothing has changed. Its just a bunch of self indulgent children wanting us to spend silly money every window.

All the list shows is that yes they've made mistakes, but they listen to fans / key boardroom members and change their mind on the important decisions. Nothing wrong with that.

Oh and that guy you've quoted is in the paddy power vid, absolute *******. Never happy.
