Summer Transfer Window 22/23

I wouldn't deal with them to be honest.
Who would you deal with then? He's seemingly set on Bayern and they're seemingly the only club in for him.

Preempting the "we might as well keep him" response, we could do that and keep a 30 year old Mane for one more year and result in the likelihood that we won't sign a forward this summer and make it more expensive for us to replace him in 12 months. I'd be amazed if that happened. The club don't take emotional decisions - they know that Mane isn't the same player he once was and that will only get worse next season and they'll know that replacing him with x is far easier than replacing him with nothing coming in.

Bayern are doing exactly what we done to Bayern two seasons ago with Thiago. They know we're not allowing Mane to leave on a free and they know the player has chose them so they will drive as hard a bargain as they can. We're going to try to get the best fee possible but ultimately he's going to be sold to Bayern unless something drastic happens.

Gareth Bale has been offered to Getafe. Their present confirmed it. Very random. Maybe he enjoys living in Spain? I thought he didn't!

Portuguese clubs are known for setting and sticking to prices. A lot of contracts have baked in release clauses.
It's a hell of a lot more complicated than this. Everybody should read the Football Leaks book if they haven't already - it gives a real incite into the murky world of football transfers but in particular some of the deals Portuguese clubs have entered into.

Lots of clubs, particularly Portuguese and South American clubs, sold their souls to the devil - they were financially in a mess and they sold off transfer rights to some very dodgy characters for fairly modest payments. Third party ownership has subsequently been banned by FIFA but as Football Leaks exposed, these sorts of deals were still being done in various forms.

Portuguese football is swamped with investors, essentially trading in footballers. Benfica very possibly, if not likely have little say in when and for how much Nunez is sold for. Benfica (or whoever is controlling Nunez's transfer rights) will not just set a random price and then stick to it, they will hold out for however much they believe they can get, whether that's this summer or next.

edit: an example of one of the deals Benfica entered into in relation to Ola John (some Liberian player they signed in 2012) - they received €4.75m for 50% of his transfer rights, however the third party owner would receive a minimum of €6m back in 3 years even if he wasn't sold. Furthermore, if Benfica rejected an offer for him the third party party owner could demand their 50% from Benfica.

Really happy that Hayden got his move down south again, suprised its only Norwich, and chuffed that Target is over the line :)

Nunez deal seems to be picking up pace, I've only seen him in our games against him he did look like he had allot of promise but also dived a fair bit which did my head in.

If he comes will need to sort that, I remember Ronaldo at UTD in early years getting told to pack it in as it was so excessive

People would say this but it was 100% *******s. If you want to know what Fergie told Utd players to do regarding diving then read Jaap Stam's book. He was telling Utd players to go down at every opportunity.

Ronaldo's 37 and he still goes to ground as much as he did when he was 17, there might be one or two fewer rolls but that's the only difference.

Of course players dive and much of it is either allowed to continue or flat out encouraged by managers. Get a player sent off? A free kick around the area? A penalty? Anything to gain an advantage and anything to win.

Leeds have signed another RB Salzburg players, right back Kristensen for 10m. Looks a unit and 10 goals last season!

Striker, left back and another midfielder without selling KP and Raphinha and we’re onto a winner :D

Seems a bit of a letdown from what you were expecting in Lodi?!
Would have I preferred Lodi. Yup but the fee was mooted to be 40million but Targett makes sense. Not even sure how strong our interest was.

I would be disappointed if we don't land Botman which the ball has swung into our court it seems.

He's been our number one target since January.
