Summer Transfer Window 23/24

That’s a bit harsh it’s still a good stadium compared to most, it’s just not comparable to a great, modern stadium likes spurs have.

Is it though? Is it a good stadium for the biggest side in England who had decades of domination of their domestic league and have been the richest side revenue wise for a long time.

Its like anything, yes if you compare it to the minnows of the league who are always on the edge of their finances but when you put it into perspective its an embarrassment. The roof is leaking for gods sake.

No one in our league has brand new state of the art stadiums other than Tottenham and Arsenal. Our stadium is out of date yes but is still the largest in the country and still generates the largest match day revenue.

Should we have a better stadium given our level of commercial success? Yes. Was it a concern to Fergie during our decades of dominance? No. Would I prefer the money generated by our club to be put into a stadium rather than the Glazers filthy pockets? Absolutely. And it’s that reason that makes it a travesty that we don’t have World class stadium.

So we’re apparently in for David Raya.

Ramsdale‘s dodgy keeping these last few games must have Arteta nervous. Not a good start to the season for the worlds most valuable goalkeeper
Id love to know who valued them because they need to seek help.

It isnt Ramsdales dodgy keeping in the last few games its his keeping in general. He isnt a very good goalkeeper and certainly shouldnt be number 1 for a team that wants to win big.

Only person rating Ramsdale as number one in the world is his mum.

I wouldn't even put him top 3 in the PL and I think he had a good season last year.
I think he was bang average myself. Gets beaten at his near post a lot.

Is Reya really that much better?
imo yes.

Saved more shots then any other PL keeper last season.

I know stats can be misleading BUT :

"The statistic relates to how likely a keeper is to save a shot, minus the number of goals they've actually conceded. In simpler terms - how many goals a keeper has prevented"

Reya is 3rd with +4.6

Leno 2nd with +9.2

Alisson 1st with +10.1

Ramsdale is 15th with -2

Ederson is 23rd with -5.1

Stats for goalkeepers can be very misleading. So much is dependant on system. Raya has the most long passes because he's aiming at Toney for example, he's not going to be any good aiming at Jesus.

I don't think he's a bad keeper but I wouldn't have said he was a significant step up. Just seems like a weird move.

i couldnt care for his long passes im interested in his shot stopping

Those stats don't say anything about his shot stopping...

If you're interested in shot stopping though, Leno has a better record than either of them :p

*Saves from shots outside the box*

*Saves* (GK Only)

David Raya faced the most shots, made the most saves, claimed the second-most crosses, made more touches and completed the most passes out of all the other top-flight goalkeepers last season.
