Summer Transfer Window 23/24

so does bellingham have no balls or ambiton because he went to real to win a guaranteed la liga and some cups pretty much every year

does haaland have no ambition because he joined city where hes pretty much guaranteed to win medals every year

going to a foreign league to make a success of yourself shows a lot of balls and ambition imo, going out a comfort zone to experience a new lifestyle etc. His family would be way better off living a bavarian life then this country
Those are great examples of moves I would say are the opposite of 'having balls', yes. Sensible for those players, sure, but not moves that needed them to have balls to do it - they're about as risk free as it gets for players looking to tally up a few medals.

If Kane is mostly interested in racking up a few Bundesliga medals, then Bayern will be a great way to get a few but it's laughable to paint it as some sort of big brave move.

You lot are talking about Bayern as if they’re some tin pot club.

They are a giant. Easily A top 5 club now and historically.

They’ve won a couple of CL in the last decade or so as well. With Kane they’ll be up there with City as favourites, just second favourites now without him.

AC Milan arguably one of the biggest clubs in the world bar Madrid. Look at them now. History means nothing when you have Premier League bank roll. Bayern are not even in the picture anymore but still clinging on with the players they have had over the past ten years getting to the end of their careers. Bayern will end up like AC Milan, Ajax, Benfica and all the rest.

If you are not in the Premier League you are nothing really. It is really sad because Champions League should be the supreme competition but it really isn't anymore. I for one hate the dominance of our league over the past few years and it is only getting stronger.

Madrid is about the only club left still hanging on.

Seems these links with Caicedo picking up pace.

Well he is certainly better than Lavia but I’d still like both.

If not we have to least prompt Bajetic to first team squad

This is where we at with regards to Harry Kane's future:

  • Financial issues between Harry Kane and Tottenham are threatening to collapse the deal to take the England captain to Bayern Munich.
  • On Thursday afternoon, sources told Sky Sports News that the issues mean Kane is increasingly likely to stay at Spurs this season.
  • Bayern Munich are aware of the issues, but as of Thursday evening have not giving up hope of another twist.
  • A deal worth around £100m (£86m plus add ons) has already been agreed by the clubs.
  • Tottenham have done everything possible to convince Kane to sign a new deal this summer before agreeing terms with Bayern.

wonder what the hell that could be

The noises out of Germany suggest everyone wants the deal to go ahead but there are financial issues holding things up. Strange.

Yet it's Shearer's goal scoring record everyone talks about decades later, not his single PL winner's medal.

Not sure the 'glory' of a virtually default Bundesliga trophy is all that much to shout about when you're talking about career achievements.

If he stays in the PL and breaks records he'll be talked about longer than if he leaves and wins a couple of German trophies imo.
I do get where you are coming from but 'being talked about' doesn't necessarily carry the same weight as medals to that individual.
One of the reasons it is talked about is because literally dozens of players win medals every season, whereas goalscoring records are typically held for many years. So having a medal in itself doesn't make you standout. However, for that person, they might get satisfaction from a medal and also a medal is irrevocable (assuming your team didn't cheat) whereas a record can be taken away. Consider Salah for example, he used to have the outright record for most goals in a 38 game season. He's still at the same club where he achieved that record, but he no longer holds it. So I'd argue his winner's medal means more.
What I would say is for players that already have medals then sure, I can see the appeal of topping the scoring charts. Take Shearer for example, he's content to have the record and not chased medals at say Man United. But he's saying that as someone who already had a PL winners medal. I'd say for people with zero medals getting that first one is pretty important.

That said, nobody will particularly care over here how much he wins in Germany and only Harry knows the value he'd put on it. I doubt he grew up dreaming of playing in Germany so it's a strange one that wouldn't carry the same weight as a PL medal. That said he might have a shot at the Champions League with Bayern, which is something everyone aspires to.

If Kane joins Bayern I'll be gob smacked.
Yeah same. I've never taken it seriously and I really can't see the attraction. If you have to leave England then it's either PSG for the money and easy domestic trophies, one of the big two in Spain or a lifestyle destination in Italy. Sure the Bundesliga has produced and nurtured some top talent but I don't think it's the place to be at the peak of your powers as a non German.

110milloon for A player that Joelinton bullied and dominated when we last played them :D

Can’t wait for ole Klop to moan about not being able to spend as much money as Newcastle again :p

Can't wait for your overlords to take Joelinton to Saudi. Not because I think he's very good but I want to watch you cry :p ;)

And the best thing about this deal is your owners paid for half of it :D If only Saudi would hurry up with that Nat Phillips offer, we need some cash to buy another defender.
