Summer Transfer Window 23/24

Poor 'arry has probably been telling his missus that it isn't happening because Bayern won't cough up enough and Levy is a ****. Now hes getting the courage to tell her that he would quite like to go and win something for once. Good luck lad.

It's an interesting one.

I do understand both sides of it, but his ambition should be to play in the CL and win something. Spurs aren't likely to be doing either.

On the other hand, the PL is far superior to the Bundesliga, but Bayern are a giant of a club regardless.

The PL goal record is good, but it will likely be broken one day - plus he's still quite a way off it - what if he gets some injuries.

I think that staying at Spurs another season or going to Bayern this season are both valid moves honestly. I don't think he is going to be the lose in either case.

It must be hard for Kane, on the one hand he wants to challenge himself and play at the next level, but he’s obviously loyal as well.

Yet it's Shearer's goal scoring record everyone talks about decades later, not his single PL winner's medal.

Not sure the 'glory' of a virtually default Bundesliga trophy is all that much to shout about when you're talking about career achievements.

If he stays in the PL and breaks records he'll be talked about longer than if he leaves and wins a couple of German trophies imo.

Why can't we cough up 95 million for him?

With Maguire I think we have made 50 million so far. With Mcsauce and Fred should be able to get that figure close to 100 million.

but no one will talk about shearer and his goalscoring record when kane breaks it, thats the point

and when someone breaks kanes record such as haaland no one will talk about kane

you win medals they can never be taken away from you.

the lads clearly got no balls and ambition

I suppose the big factor is that he can pick any club he likes next summer. He could end up at Man Utd for example on a free (with a large signing bonus, no doubt). Plus it would mean he can break the goal record and keep adding to it.

PSG will want him if Mbappe goes to RM, but that's probably even worse than going to Bayern.

That being said, if Kane turns Bayern down, I can see him signing another contract and just staying at Spurs, which would show a massive lack of ambition.

No one will talk about Kane at all if all he has are a couple of Bundesliga medals that nobody else cares about.

Going over to Germany to pick up a medal that's virtually won before the season even starts isn't showing 'balls and ambition', it's just giving up on achieving anything here and going for an easy ride.

Stick it out for a year, join a genuine top contender in the PL and help them win something - that'll show some ambition and might also result in achieving something people will remember you for.

Looks like Fred is off to Fenerbahce and Kovar to Leverkusen. This summer has been surprisingly competent so far!
And there goes the jinx. We’ll re-sign Schneiderlin, appoint Rabiot’s Mum as director of football and grab Neymar on £1m a day wages now.

In all seriousness, nice that we’re moving on Fred finally. That one’s been rumbling on for a good while in the background.

I don't like the term lack of ambition, maybe he's just happy at Spurs playing the game he loves in a familiar environment with his wife and kids happy and settled. He's already achieved something that the vast majority only dream of and every one moans about money grabbing footballers only interested in money and personal glory maybe he's seen the bigger picture and would rather retire the premier league and England's record goal scorer and a spurs legend? Plus they could win a cup or two they have been close several times in his career and if he ended that wait he would be even more popular in that neck of the woods.

if he goes bayern they have a great chance of winning a champs league thats not just some medal

A slim chance, it's top level tournament football, just as much chance of yet another 'last 32' participation certificate too.

I think he'd be far better off staying in the PL and trying to get himself in a top side next summer - can still get the CL opportunity, break records, maybe some domestic trophies along the way.

Or pick up a massive Saudi paycheck at Newcastle :p

You lot are talking about Bayern as if they’re some tin pot club.

They are a giant. Easily A top 5 club now and historically.

They’ve won a couple of CL in the last decade or so as well. With Kane they’ll be up there with City as favourites, just second favourites now without him.
100% mate i dont get people downtalking bayern at all

Nobody's talking down about Bayern as if they are a tin pot club but joining them to win their 12th league title in a row is not what I'd describe as having 'balls and ambition'.

They've got the same half decent shot at the CL as any of the top PL teams have when it comes to tournament football, so that alone I don't see as a big justification to paint going there as some sort of brave step forward.

so does bellingham have no balls or ambiton because he went to real to win a guaranteed la liga and some cups pretty much every year

does haaland have no ambition because he joined city where hes pretty much guaranteed to win medals every year

going to a foreign league to make a success of yourself shows a lot of balls and ambition imo, going out a comfort zone to experience a new lifestyle etc. His family would be way better off living a bavarian life then this country

Well not really. They’re second favourites currently and are more than twice as likely to win it than Arsenal or Man Utd and >3 Newcastle.

If they get Kane, I’d imagine their odds would plummet as well.

FWIW Spurs last season had the same chance as Utd do this season of winning the CL.
