Summer Transfer Window 23/24

Can't wait for your overlords to take Joelinton to Saudi. Not because I think he's very good but I want to watch you cry :p ;)

And the best thing about this deal is your owners paid for half of it :D If only Saudi would hurry up with that Nat Phillips offer, we need some cash to buy another defender.
Hang on hang

Still spending that Coutinho money?

In all fairness that money spent on yous was the best thing ever. Won’t have watch Liverpool fans on her post pictures of spending!

That's one thing we agree on. I lost the will to live replying to my fellow reds claiming we spent £4.50 on transfers in the past 5 years.

Unlike many, I always said we would spend this sort of money. I know it's a concept some football fans are scared of but adjusting for football inflation, the fee for VVD is probably still more than any fee we might end up paying for Caicedo. Now admittedly I didn't think we'd end up making a £100m signing this summer because I thought we had too much other business to get done. Whether we've decided that we can't get that defender we want/need now so put the extra down on Caicedo or whether that £50-60m from Saudi just topped the budget up, we'll have to wait and see.

If the Caicedo deal comes off, I'll be over the moon. I said throughout the January window that he's the one DM I really wanted. He's a little terrier but can really play too. He done a bit of the RB/CM hybrid role at the end of last season too which may come in handy also. The fee is bonkers but this is what the market has become. We're probably in the period with the poorest quality central midfielders in my lifetime so anybody half decent is costing superstar money.

Feel a bit for Lavia (assuming we won't be signing him also) being left with his pants down. The Caicedo deal probably explains why we took so long with negotiations for him - we were keeping him/Southampton on ice just in case we couldn't pull this off.

@BaZ87

I was about to mention the RB thing. Now when Joelinton tore him apart he was playing there and we did target him.

That’s two players that you were after that could fill that RB spot that Trent often leaves open . Enzo specialised in that very role for Benfica. Could drop in and cover when needed during the match.

Let’s just say the Chelsea diehards I know have quite a few messages this morning. Going to be tasty match at the weekend.

If the deal goes through (there's no way it's registered in time for him to play), I hope we unveil him to our fans at Stamford Bridge. And then kidnap Colwill.

**** I love the Premier League!!!

Anyone got. Webcam footage of Todd’s office? Lolz serves them right. They swooped in and stole two Brazilians off us and blocking the Hall move.

If it’s done early Friday it’s possibly to register him surely?
I'm not sure what the cut off time is but I'm pretty sure it has to be x hours before the first game of the round of fixtures. I can't see how he's getting a medical and completing all the paperwork in a few hours.

Suppose, shame if not.

If his preference is London though let’s hope Klopp can convince. MacAlistar may help in that too!

I’m surprised we put the bid in I’m one of the few that didn’t see or owners putting up that kind of fee tbh.

I’m by no means in this whole FSG out crap as they have been fab owners over all I think

Im sorry we've spent how much!??

I think its a lot, id be a hypocrite if i didnt BUT its good to see us finally flex our muscles a little bit and compete. He's absolutely perfect for our midfield
