Summer Transfer Window 23/24

This place... :D Maddison is overrated and abused for 'relegating' Leicester despite having decent numbers, but Mount gets away with it for being in a rubbish side :D
I'd argue that it's a bit unfair to compare my comment with that of somebody else? Maddison was clearly Leicester's outstanding player last season. Obviously you need to take players in context. Djimi Traore was not one of the best defenders in the world despite winning the Champions League.

Edit: That said, as I've said above, I think that Maddison is a good player, but playing in a role which is fading out of the game at the top level.

Yeah, not picking on you but read some of the comments a bit back. It's a shame there are no City/Spurs fans to ever give something back :D

Not really, their squad seems to be progressively getting older and older. They seemed to have stopped signing bargains and selling them on like they did when they first started getting bigger. What I can't understand is how they're suddenly in this position. They just won the Europa league and qualified for the CL so it's not like a sudden revenue drop unless the drop is from non football means? Is this just lingering covid impact or **** management?

Montiel? Don't think he's that highly regarded. He's also not really young, 26.

Reading around it seems this is somewhat clickbait. Sevilla's entire side is up for sale every year because that is their model. Don't think it is a sudden change in debt. Does feel like their transfers haven't been as good in recent years as they were in the early years of their rise though. Maybe Monchi leaving is a good thing.

Going entirely off FM, Nianzou was incredibly highly rated. Then he left Bayern for Sevilla (but they have a buyback clause I think), I assume for regular football. No idea how he's done since though.

Mount is a bit of a strange one.

Gareth absolutely loved him at one point and his best season came under a decent manager with Tuchel. He even did okay under Lampard too. I guess ETH can see something in him from when he played in the Dutch league.
I think he was actually at his best prior to the Euros which was pre Tuchel. I think his best football was under Lampard. His form prior to the Euros was superb. Since then I've thought he was pretty average and was getting picked for England because that's what England do based off prior form and it's only international level football.
The Rice deal is apparently in danger. Sullivan just won’t budge on his demand for the entire fee to be paid in 18 months :(

Can't blame him, Westham fans will expect 200m spent on new players if they get on paper £100m+ for Rice. They won't care or listen that the money is coming over instalments. You can't do much with 20p per year like Arsenal want to pay.
