Supplements the debate/discussion thread

Bit of an update after a month on VMax Pump.

Still working well, not as much buzz, but my workouts are consistent and there's no fall off like there was with N.O. X-Plode (not a full on crash, but just knew it had worn out).

Downside, if it is one, is the pump isn't as good as with N.O. X-Plode at all. I do get a pump, its great, but not that 'skin tearing' feeling when doing bicep curls like with N.O. X-Plode. Also VMax doesn't really make you feel like you can lift more than you can, for me thats good and bad!

Overall I'm still pleased, as after a months use I havent upped dosage and still happy with the results. This is value for money in my book! Though I can see myself buying N.O. X-Plode again, still to try SP250.

Hows the Superpump Benny? Your bicep RIPPED off yet? haha!

Good thing about the V-max is that it has a fair bit of Taurine in it plus some protein so you know this is getting to your muscles during the pump.

I get a wicked arm pump with SP250 as I did with the V-max. Though I also think my FatGripz have something to do with this.

As of late I was feeling a bit dissapointed with the SP250 as on my new split as I don't think it's intense enough to warant a good pump as when I train a part per day split. However I do get an incredibly good back pump, especially in my lats.

For some reason on Friday I had without a doubt the best training session I've ever had. I was probaly still a little hungover from Wednesday night. I'd waited a bit longer than normal after my PreWO shake before taking the SP250.

When I got there it was busy and I felt a bit 'meh'. Strength is on the up due to my type of training but my concentrics were really powerful and I just felt like superman.

I'd struggled to get 3 sets of Incline DB Press out on 32.5KG's after 3 sets of 90KG bench and 3 sets of pull ups last week. I think I was in the zone as I threw the 32.5's, 35's and 37.5's up with **** loads of power. I felt on a roll when doing my B.O.R's. Normally finding 70KG's tough, I finished my 4th set on 90KG's  T-bar rows and Lat Pulldown were all heavier too.

I don't hold SP250 responsible for giving me extra strength as I'm fairly sure me just digging deep was the cause, but I think the boost and energy it gave me was phenomenal this one time. But yeah I was almost laughing during my reps it was that silly.

One thing to mention is that I did double scoop and have been when I have a long session like chest & back. So double dosage which makes it slightly less value however if I get workouts like that everytime it'd be worth the money!

Shoulders today so I'll feed back if it's another superman workout. Though I had was seemed like a 6 hour flu the night before last and am still a bit groggy. We shall see.

Edit: Sometimes my guts feel a bit funny before training though this can even be before I've taken any pump products. Though I don't think the SP250 is too kind on them. Whilst I've not had any issues I think double scooping does disrupt them a bit at the time. Probaly just anxiety as I'm lifting heavy at current.

Think I mentioned before that I found the SP250 wore off pretty quick.

I was on like 3/4 scoops at the end to get something out of it :o

Serious crash an hour or so after training though.

I think I might throw another pre workout supp in over the next month. What do you guys recommend I try? Have only used SP250 and and BSD Reloaded.

Yeah I got some MEGA crash off it the first time. Not so much anymore though now.

Not quite sure what to recommend as I've only used V-max and this.

Specifcally a Pre WO supp? or just another supp for the stack in general?

I've been doing similar for a while now - my last pre workout supp was when you came down for Strongman...(SP250), so fancy giving something else a go :D

I think it's worth having a crack at either Phd VMax Pump. Seems to work differently for me than how it did for ol' Benny, but I'm still happy with it. Will def try SP250 or give N.O. Xplode another go to get that bear feeling to throw some steel through the roof!

Edited what I wrote, PAz I believe you've used N.O. X-Plode before? Try Vmax, gets great reviews also.

Whilst I don't really feel tired after a session with either V-max of SP250, I deffinatley felt fresher afterwards with the V-max.

Although I do quite like feeling tired in the evening as it makes me sleep like a baby. V-max tastes a bit nicer too in berry blast. Does make your lips curl though but is better than drinking what looks like pink highlighter fluid and tastes like tooty fruity!

I'd love to have a go at mixing up my own 'pump' supplement though I think it could turn out pritty mental! :D

Its all these 'shuttle' things which all pump prods bang on about that confuses me!

Hate the cost, love the results! Althought I can imagine you banging in 10g of Beta Alanine, 400mg Caffeine, 5g of Creatine...... a good massive dose of N.O.

Your head will explode!

Oh yes definitely, seems like a 'lasting' pick me up effect, that doesnt interfere with my sleep. Am happy with that, doesn't tail off rapidly like other products.

Yeah it's a nice gradual comedown. Phd spend along time developing their products and it shows. I think I heard that they spent around 6 months sorting out their flavouring systems alone  and about 16 months developing the V-max.

I currently take optinum nutrition 100% whey protein which has won overall supplement of the year and protein powder of the year for the 5th year running on bodybuilding.com.
Great stuff, best protein powder I have ever used, had some good gains from it and really helps you recover fast.
