Supplements the debate/discussion thread

does anyone use the Juice flavoured whey's as apposed to the shake orientated ones? or can anyone suggest some that go nicely with water? I want to cut back a little on my milk intake and also be able to use something that is easy to have at work, where adding just water is the simplest option?

I normally use MP's whey range with water. Actually all whey products I use with water. You dont have to use it with milk :)

Xtend has arrived :) great service from power body.

I sometimes wonder if I need more than just my whey shakes to actually get anywhere :o

Always wanted to gain with as little supplements as possible though :(

If you have money to spend on supplements, you have money to spend on better quality food :) and that will get you a hell of a lot further

Not really, I spend what...£40 on a 5KG bag of whey, that'll last me two months easily...If I buy £40 worth of chicken I wouldn't get half as much :p

I sometimes wonder if i actually needed all the supplements i have taken to get to where i am currently..... on reflection,

No!

just a better understanding would have achieved this with good quality food.

You were talking about supplements on top of the whey though

I was yes, that or different supps.

I took the time to highlight your problem.

I'm aware of that, it's called personal / family issues along with losing several jobs due to the awesome recession that we have been going through since 2008.

This is the longest stint I have done, and so far it's going okay. I just like to look at how things 'can' be improved, if they can, I would like to try them.

Things can be improved by eating better foods, sleeping plenty and a solid training routine and that is all there is too it. Whey is the only supplement you need, and unless you plan on buying the naughty supplements, nothing else is going to help you as much as a solid diet will.

Don't worry yourself about what you could be missing out on if you took this or that :)

This post really surprises me, as I remember seeing your old posts about how "reliant" (wrong word to use I know) on supps :) Great to see that you've been open to new ideas :)

Yip, doing my best with what I can matey :)

Probably need to re-jig my diet again, breakfast primarily

Agreed. Diet and Training should be as good as they can be, and then supplements added as an after thought if you have spare cash.
