Supplements the debate/discussion thread

Hehe, simple, cheap and effective, I like it LiE :)

I'll give that a go next week. This week isn't going to involve much gym-going, as I have to study for my final CCNA exam next week :( A little CV will do me this Friday and I have climbing on Saturday anyway.

Thanks again,

David

How much protein is there in a double decker delvis? jesus

Well that's the point innit :p. A tasty alternative to a chocolatey snack with reasonable nutrition. Oats + Whey is cheaper, but these are a lot more convenient at work. Also people don't think I'm on steroids because I have a whey shaker with me at work :o.

Probably none, that's my point. Some would moan about the price, but when you see people spending that much on a bar of chocolate ;)

P.S: I must be blind.

Ta for clarifying.

Skill, hurry up and get lifting.

Just worried that double decker was what popped into your head when working out the relative value of a protein flapjack. If you eat chocolate bars and in your head you are thinking "well its ok cos its better than nothing" then dont. If you dont eat them then good and im just reading your mind wrong :D

Haha! :D

No I don't sit here and eat chocolate bars (although I frickin LOVE Double-Decker bars!!!! :o :p) I was just comparing the averaged price chocolate bar to a protein bar :)

If they taste nice and theres room in the diet for them then it's something I'd look at, especially if you have a job where you can sit and eat rice and chicken or something :p

Those bars look like a good deal, fantastic to have at work.

But I won't be buying until next month; I'm so poor it's unreal :( Thank goodness it's pay day in the next week and a bit.

I can't remember the last time there wasn't a minus next to my bank balance, it was at least 5years ago!

Ordered those flapjacks yesterday afternoon, just arrived. Great service from BBW, free delivery aswell :).
Also ordered some Alpha Men multivits from MyProtein which arrived at the office today, only they came in an addressed package with no name on! Cue the receptionist ripping them open and accusing me of buying steroids and delivering them here. I guess it has an unusual name but come on, people's disdain for gym ratz is really starting to get to me. If I went to the gym 3x a week and did a hamster wheel routine they'd praise me for my healthiness :o.

Know exactly what you mean. I often hide / play down the effort I go to (not that my effort is nearly as much as some of the people on here) because of the stigma - protein shakes = unhealthy / gym = just wanting to get jacked for the honies etc. :(

My mum's a doctor and she finds the protein heavy diet/use of shakes very strange (I'm pretty sure she disagrees), despite the marked change the diet and exercise have had on my fitness/build.

I'm starting a new job next week and so far the impression I've got is that it's mostly the older generation that work in the office so it'll be fun to hear all their opinions on it :o
