Supplements the debate/discussion thread

I wasn't assuming you were giving bad advice Steeds!

Surely extra whey is more affordable than bedtime extreme... or is it a matter of squeezing something extra into a monthly budget?

Have you explored price matches for 2.5kg bags?

For a bedtime meal, I'd rather have casein, that's it. Well personally I'd rather have cottage cheese, whey, peanut butter in a big bowl like I have :D but for ol' Delvis, if he has to buy anything for bed, I'd rather he spent his cash on casein than standard whey for beddybys.

One day I'll have a real job, and you can do what you like with me Steeds.

Wait...What?

Good scoop of ON casein, 1000mg chewable vitamin C, 2 fish oils and 3 ZMA = night night :D

What's this? Incase he wakes up and discovers he lost 18lbs of muscle overnight? :p

I am a fan of Caesin; before bed, due to the fact that the product takes 5-7 hours to totally digest. This then aids in muscle preservation, and your body has something to feed on during the long hours of rest.

Will i go catabolic during my sleep = NO but still i would rather have slow digestive protein.

ZMA and calcium (which there is plenty in casein) don't go so well together because they fight for absorption and calcium wins.

I used to have casein before bed as well - switched to regular whey + PB.

It's usually okay to have ZMA then 30 minutes later take your casein, but i don't take either of them anymore as i'm not avidly involved in it as i was beforehand, but i love cottage cheese, so i'd opt for that over a casein shake any day on Ryvita or something.

Skill will be riding a bike to his new job, nomsayin?

Shame, as he's not even reached his natural potential yet, at all, unless I'm missing something. Why not get where you can without riding your bike?

Other than wanting to get there quickly I'm a bit lost :o

why bedtime extreme whats wrong with peanut butter? at £4 a tub it can last me 1 month at 1 tbspn before bed :) i have a 3 egg white omellette as well but i am sure a scoop of normal whey would suffice?

surely pb and whey is much friendlier on the budget then bedtime extreme?

on a side note, what is everyones monthly budget for there food.

Mine is coming to around £100 not including suppliements.

I'm finding it quite hard to come up with the budget at the moment, need to purchase everything and add it up over the month :p Needless to say, it's a fair whack.

I'm also not too keen on PB I don't think, I like penuts though :p

What list of supplements are you going to need?
