PHD Pharma Whey HT+ tastes funny. I've got the choc cookie flavour and it tastes like raw cookie dough, but it has a sour tangy-ness to it too.

Could be down to the hydrolysed whey content, that's apparently not overly pleasent tasting.

I think it is just a funny flavour of the hydrolysed whey. It's sour - not like gone-off-milk sour, more like sherbert dip sour, but quite strong. It's also sour "bits" if you catch my drift.

I find my Whey Isolate is completely different than the standard impact whey....so much so i'm probably going to buy some impact whey just for my porridge in the morning, and the isolate isn't mixing well at all

Unless you're dieting and/or don't care about spending extra money, isolate really isn't necessary

Was recommended on using it a while back to help with a few things...Probably won't get it again (damn 4kg bag though)

Unflavoured too!

I had some from Maxiraw a while ago and it was fine, less of the creamyness of concentrate but definitely not bad.
Maybe I'm just weird :D

Like I say, mines unflavoured, and it goes with dextrose normally.

The issue I have is that it turns my porridge in to rubber...So I'm going to have to figure a new way to do it.

Yeah, exactly

But, it's a much faster absorbing protein, and also a higher protein content, so some might argue if you're happy to put up with the price and the above, it's good for post workout. But I agree, it's pointless for 99% of people

It is however slightly more worth while when dieting for a show/shoot or something similar, having less carbs and fat in it means that even if it's a tiny amount, it's still a popular choice for people in the closing stages of a diet

People who compete are in a different league, they shouldn't be compared to other gym users.

A serving of WPC80 has approx 3g of carbs in a 50g serving so I don't buy into this "less calories" Who on earth is going to notice 3g of carbs really?

Higher protein content? 50g Isolate has 45g protein, 50 WPC80 has 40g. If you're really going to miss those 5g of protein then just add another 5g of protein powder?

Faster absorbing? Is it faster the the amino's already in my blood stream from the pre-workout meal I ate? ;)

I am of course being a pain but I just don't understand why non-competing gym users buy into this kind of thing??

Isn't Isolate supposed to be better for lactose intolerant people?

I think I am intolerant but never tried it, I use hemp powder.

Not sure, maybe.

I got it because I was told a while back about reducing estrogen and stuff (ie, milk etc....so sigma's question makes sense) as I was worried of a few things...I've practically cut milk out other than in tea, and cheese is non existant unless I have a family meal or something.

I'll see how things go with this bag, and go from there.
