Supplements the debate/discussion thread

You'll find people eating anything up to 6 at a time. I find huge omelets a pain to cook.

As for factoring it into a diet, that would depend on the rest of the diet and your macro goals.

I normally have at least 4 eggs a day. Normally 2-3 poached in the morning and one or two boiled at lunch (yellows removed).

I am ordering some more protein, I have decided to go for a flavour this time as I have been mixing with nesquick and it coagulates a bit too much. Which is better 'Isolate' or 'Standard Whey' from MP?

Unless you know why you need it then whey concentrate.
Isolate is for people who suffer from lactose intollerence or are on very strict diets. For your average gym trainer there's little need for the extra cost.

just wondering for those that like omelettes as part of their training diet how many eggs are you having a day and do you use the whole egg or are you taking the yolks out for the omelette?

8 eggs a day, 6 white 2 whole for my morning omelette

I never remove the yolks - they're my favourite bit!

My annual 5kg bag of post work out whey is almost done! Since I don't always use a shake after a workout (I usually end up eating within an hour) it's lasting me ages.

I'm eating so well at the moment I haven't had or felt the need for much/any supplementation. I'm not trying to gain size really, just maintain the status quo. I think once i sort my work life out (work is **** at the moment and has been for the last 6 months) I may start training harder/better.

I still like to have some whey on standby though - it's weird. Even if I don't use it, I like to know it's there. I don't find it satisfying, or enjoy it (even the flavoured stuff) as my body just prefers good ol' food. However psychologically sometimes it feels as though it makes a difference - of course it does **** all as my diet is pretty good, but your head is crucial to your training in terms of perception and motivation and development.

I also just cannot be bothered to take them anymore these days, especially if you want to do it properly, there's so much **** to take to enhance / get a sympathetic effect that to me it feels like a waste. Undoubtedly this is down to my down turn in training, but even then I've been moving away from supps more and more.

Great for boosting some calories, and adding some nutrition though, don't get me wrong - I'm just fed up with so much of the BS attached with it, and all the "science" added to so many of the products - and adding the word "anabolic" to everything - ugh.

Agree FF, I'd rather eat the food, just I'm trying to save the pennies for now, and having some supplements (for me) is cheaper and easier at the moment...

I have some whey in my porridge, whey+dextrose post workout, and casein before bed.

Other than that, it's all food

Oh for bulking out food and getting nutrition cheaply it's a no brainer. :)

Aye, as I say, its in my morning porridge to add protein, the post workout is self explanitory, and I guess you could argue the casein protein before bed and have cottage cheese...But seeing as I'm cutting and its easier to take than scoffing a tub of cheese :p

MP have finally added flavour to their BCAA range. They now have Berry Blast (for now).
Hurray!.

I tried taking my BCAA like I do my creatine (straight in the mouth & wash it down with water) - had a nasty surprise (tastes far worse than I'd have ever thought).

I'll definitely give it a look :p
