Supplements the debate/discussion thread

Well it would be nice to think it was fat, but since the most I can pinch is skin, I can assure you it's not.
It really is quite childish the manner in which some people get annoyed with others, like Skillmeister above, are you 12??
I'm pretty proud of what I've achieved, I have put on nearly 2 stone, whilst only gaining two inches on my waist, but over 2 inches on my chest and 3 on my arms.

Well, I can understand the not being able to gain fat that easily, as I know a few people like that. But still, just being able to gain that much muscle in a year would be incredible from what I've read.

But yes, put up progress pics though, as it's always interesting to see how people have progressed

Many people regret having to serve in the Army. But it was not a waste of time for me. When I came out I weighed 225 pounds. I'd gone from 200 to 225. Up to that time, this was the biggest change I'd ever made in a single year.
25lbs in one year (note, not 25lbs of lean muscle).

Care to guess who said this?

You also have to remember that some people store a lot more fat round their organs than they do subcutaneously so while you may appear lean you could be packing it in round your organs.

2 inches on your waist but you gained zero fat?

Is this real life?!?!

Your a ****** idiot mate!
I have worked on my stomach muscles too, and I'm not denying that I've gained some fat I didn't say zero!!! With muscle and a little fat 2 inches is nothing, and since I was a 30 inch waist to begin with I don't care.

lol, I didn't know why people were saying the supplements thread was quite volatile the other day, now I do :p.

Perhaps it's just best left at he's gaining weight and happy to be doing so, however the percentages fall :).

But then we can manage to have quite a mature discussion about steroids, which most people would think would get more heated. Go figure :o

It's expected, when someone comes along and makes pretty outlandish claims without providing much insight. If I said to you guys I'd gain 20lbs of lean mass, here's a before and after pic, it shows literally nothing.

I'd want to see proper measurements, LBM % before and after, BF % etc. If it turned out to be correct, then perhaps sharing the amazing training and diet which attained such muscle would be useful.

What we have is none of that.

Well as mentioned in the other thread, the debate there is not so much about whether they work, it's more about peoples own opinions on using them. Thankfully we seem to have people that whether they agree or disagree, at least accept it's each persons choice to make for themselves.

I went from 11.5stone to 13 of muscle. I am a hard gainer of fat not muscle,

Considering you are obviously a scientific miracle i expect you to be competing in top level bodybuilding competitions in the next year then when you have gained another 52lbs of solid muscle. I wish you luck.

That's the joke though Wedgie. I never claimed to have gained all that, I said 12kg, just to prove that 3kg was a stupid amount. It was my fault for saying that 23 was possible for some human cause realistically it's not, however it made the pedantic idiots to jump on thier 30foot horses and ride into town with pitch forks and fire!

My god, shut up. When I get to my target of 15 stone, I might set a new target of 17, I don't care about anything you say and will not compete in anything. arghgghgh I never said I would gain 52lb

The 2 inches of waist gain just screams fat gain quite simply there is not anything around your waist that can contribute massively to muscle mass.

As for your gains over the year, funnily enough I had similar gains in my first year, I was visibly not fat, but it s pretty obvious I had out fat on. I had gained similar size that you noted to my chest and my arms, but less obviously I had gained fat.

I would say in that first year I had put on probably close to 6lb of muscle maybe a little more, but not much more.

just to put this in to context this is still 26lb in a year, which for a top athlete would be impressive.

Could I ask, how are you measuring your BF %, your LBM, your chest, arm, waist measurements etc?

Waist, arms, and chest measurements where all with a tape measure. I had a caliper reading done but that was to long ago to mention. I think I will buy some of ebay to see what has changed but from eye and knowing my own body it's not been a great deal.
