Supplements the debate/discussion thread

You'll have to drink quite a bit of milk to get the same amount of protein from a scoop of whey.

I don't think I need that amount though. Currently getting about 300g in total every day and I'm only 100kg. I read a thread on Sugden and some big dudes on there barely have 200g. I dunno... just thinking is it worth the money. Could spend that money on more steak!

I'm coming towards the end of a 5kg tub of protein and really debating if I need to be having so much, if any.

I get 200g of protein daily from chicken, tuna and eggs. Then 4 scoops of protein powder on top of that.

Think I might just sack off the protein shakes and drink some milk instead.

I've just got the 2nd Edition of Wendlers 5/3/1 and in his NoV diet section he actually recommends 4 x 50g protein shakes per day!

You're getting more than enough protein if you're getting 200g (that's more than enough especially at your weight - and I doubt you're 10% lean, and even so when you get more mass towards your genetic limit you need less protein anyway as you're not building new muscle) - ask yourself do you really need that shake? Or just cut down on other foods if you want to save money and use the shake accordingly. It's not a magic powder, it's just protein.

Any of you guys on test boosters? If so what PCT have you had after? Im really persuaded to buy a test booster. Im only 21 however, but sure my testerone is below average.

I have tried the PHD methoxy booster or whatever and I don't think it is worth it. The problem with test boosters is that you may become reliant on them. The best way is el natural. Good food rich in omegas like nuts/fish and sunshine. Sunshine = vitamin D = Testosterone.

Ye, I've heard of that. Im not going to be dependant on them. All I need is a suitable PCT supplement. All the suitable ones with many reviews and research results come from American Websites (From what I can find)

As a vegetarian just starting out, what supplements do I need?

I've got some whey isolate, that's about it right? It will just be a bit of a boost to protein and calorie intake. There's nothing else that I really need right? I mean, people have been getting massive years before supplements existed. I've got some creatine, but that's because I notice a small difference when I use it, both visually and performance wise.

Waste of time. Just watch pr0n, do weighted lunges or rear foot elevated split squats, hit inanimate objects and walk around with an angry face.

Last two might not help.

It depends on what kind of test boosters you're talking about.

There are some which are just test boosters and others which are marketed as test boosters but are designer roids etc.

Pro-hormones allowed to be discussed here? i know gear isn't but some of these ph's fall into the same category really.

No. And to be honest that question doesn't even warrant an answer (not you apok davetrace. At 21 he will have tonnes of testosterone. Without doing a proper blood test he cannot state that he is low.

People always are after easy fixes. Eat and train hard. Stop with the sissy ******** exercises and start earning your muscle.

Waste of money at a young age, your testosterone is naturally high at a young age, especially at 21 unless you've been diagnosed with low testosterone but thinking you have low tesosterone isn't enough to warrant purchasing test boosters.

If a Dr has discovered he actually has low testosterone, the doctor can provide proper medication and diagnosis. Test boosters potentially can help older gentlemen in their 40s/50s... but even then the research is garbled and not compelling.

Go to the doctor, if you're really concerned. If not, stop making excuses and get to the gym and lift the ****ing weights and eat properly!

To be fair Dave, I remember seeing pics of you and you're certainly capable of building muscle. If your muscle development has stalled, you need to up your kcals brah.

What's the deal with pre workout supplements these days, guys? :)

I'm looking for an energy/nitric oxide supp. I heard jack3D got banned from the UK??

Anyone heard of N2 Amp? Apparently it's insanely good but I can't seem to find it from any UK supplement retailers or even ebay!

Any others out there? I'm a bit put off NO shotgun and the like because I heard it causes bad stomach upsets??

Cheers :)

A lot of pre workouts will because they use magnesium as a filler, which for some people will be enough to make them crap out the eye of a needle. I used to call SuperPump SuperDumps, and N.O Xplode, well, I'd literally explode on the toilet.

The best ones for me in terms of keeping me in the gym and not on the bog were MyProteins Pulse, but it's not the strongest (might have changed with v4), and Muscletech Neurocore, which is awesome!
