Supplements the debate/discussion thread

Using Craze for about 2 months but max 4 times a week. Some workouts I didn't use it to stop me becoming dependant on it. Before I took my first helping of Volt yesterday, I had Craze last Friday.

So ordered my first pre-workout stack.

Mr hyde and hemavol.

Tried a sample of mr hyde and loved it and i've read / heard great things about hemavol, looking forward to trying it out tbh.

Gave Frenzy a go last night... YES! It's gives the same pump, Euphoria, focus and energy as Craze did but without the increased heart rate and wanting to poo your pants. It even tastes better too :)

The only difference is that the cooper is bigger, think it's 10g rather than 5g and you need to take 2 scoops so basically your taking more of it than Craze. I would definitely recommend this, I didn't want to end my session but had to since I was going out.

As for Volt, this is a reply I got from their Customer Services:

'Although volt and craze are both pre workout supplements they would be considered very different.
Just one example of this would be volt containing 5g of creatine per serving. a supplement like craze would not add things like creatine as the only use for crazy is to make you get an over sized pump and for your to feel ultimate focus and stimulation.

You can follow our normal returns process which states if you have only had 2 servings of a product you can return it.
However in this instance you have had way more than that. As a gesture of good will you are welcome to follow the correct returns process but we can only refund points onto your GN account for what is left of the product.

Please let me know how you would like to go for ward with this'

The response didn't answer my question, what is the point of Volt? What's it meant to do. Because it did **** all for me. From their website:

'Volt™ is a potent and scientifically driven pre workout formula packed with 12 advanced active ingredients which work in synergy to increase muscular pump, energy and mental focus, enabling you to achieve the ultimate workout and maximise your lean muscle, power and strength gains'

I didn't get any three of them even when I used 10 scoops

So you're saying that 220mg (or potentially even more) did nothing for you?

Why don't you try coming off caffeine for e while? :)

Looking at the ingredient list, caffeine looks like pretty much the only 'interesting' thing that helps with the "fight/flight" response (i.e. gets a person "amped").

The AAKG is known to provide certain NOz stimulation, too, so would help with pump. However, amino acid effects are quite subjective - first off - and then dependent on their rate of absorption in the gut. If anything is sitting in there, you could significantly slow the process.

I suppose the answer to your question is that it's not actually a very strong PWO in the context of the wider market. For the average Joe it's pretty potent (220mg of caffeine is pretty unpleasant if the individual is not used to it), but not for individuals like yourself. I suppose I would encourage you to:

a) Moderate your use of PWOs because you're going to wind up in a physiological arms race between what you're putting into your body and its rate of adaptation to the PWO ingredients;
b) Next time you buy, make sure what you're getting is "bigger/better/has more crud in it" than the last one. :)

Regarding your feedback, you may politely suggest that they rethink their returns policy based around the number of scoops, as they suggest taking a minimum of four for the pre-workout, making returns impossible according to their own policy.

TL;DR

Pre-workouts. :p ;) :D

Anyone had powdered oats before that still have a few raw oats in the bag?

Purchased some last month and pretty much every other shake I'm coming across a few bits of raw oats. Not a major problem to be honest, just curious.

You mean you have some which haven't been blended enough? Or actually still in the husk?

Like this:

Not actually seen them, can just feel them when I drink a shake. Feels like random be bits that just haven't been blended enough rather than an actual husk.

Heard that pretty good, I've got muscle pharm assault but not special really, also tried no xplode but thought I was going to have a cardiac arrest. C4 by cellucor is meant to be good.

Not fussed about the taste, just wondered if anyone else had come across it as well. I'm not bothered about blending it either so little bits it is. :)

Yea NO Xplode nearly gave me a panic attack when i tried it a few years ago.

Best ones used to be Jack3d, the original White Flood was decent as well, but I think the new one is better.

I've tried a few others as well but not thought much of them
