Anyone here take magnesium, it seems common that most people are deficient in it unless you eat certain things daily. It seems the oral tablets don't work very well either and most people use a spray as it's much better absorbed through the skin.

The oral bioavailability all depends on the form you use, any oxide forms of minerals are basically dog **** go with citrate or pretty much anything else and you'll actually get a decent dose.

There are fun experiments on dosing taurine before a heavy night out due to its apparent mild protective effect (supposedly reduces hangovers)... that's pretty much all I know it does to any significant effect.

Your proposed approach is fine insomuch as there isn't any reason to not use it, nor any better proposed way...

I want to repeat again that I'm not expecting miracles from it. It's really a scatter-gun approach. I have to take time off from exercise and in the period where I'm sat around regretting that I don't have some kind of super human healing I want to throw everything that I can at my body to make sure things aren't delayed needlessly. For the price of taurine hopefully I'll experience zero negative effects...or slightly improved (hangover) recovery :p and possibly better sleep, though I'm dubious of that so far.

So far taurine does seem to have improved my sleep - either that or I'm just generally knackered due to the healing process.

Head is feeling slightly foggy though. I might stop taking taurine in the morning.

Does anyone have any thoughts/suggestions about protein supplements? As a pescetarian i've realised that i'm probably not getting as much as i should with my current diet, but i'm not really sure what the options are...

Tinned makeral?

50-70p a tin about 20g of protien per tin.

Cheap ass bags of pollock or other generic white fish and make chowder/soup cheap and tasty.

Soya mince or soya beans from tesco, red lentils boiled and blended go nicely into pretty much any sauce adding about 20g protein per 100g but also about 60g carbs iirc.

Where are you getting Basa for £4 a kilo?! I'd be all over that

I get the Tesco Value white fish bags, 500g for £1.68. It's probably not even fish at that price, definitely not basa, but it's got protein so I'll keep kidding myself

Cannot believe MyProtein. Ordered some BCAA's on the 16th, they sent me the wrong ones. They don't organise a courier collection, only a prepaid label, so I have to take time out of my day to drop it off at the nearest Collect+ point. This was on the 18th. I ask if they're sending out the right product - They say not until we've received the other product back - Bit annoying but fair enough. Message them today asking wtf is going on and I'm told they only just received it back, so my replacement will be dispatched in 2-5 working days by the original postage method...

Are they serious? They do a next day delivery service for orders before 9pm - Just send it to me next day! Why should I have to wait another 2-5 working days + postage for a second time?!
