agreed^ (post 423)

I thought button got quite lucky again today what with kova and sutil having a tussle and raikonnen and heidfeld backing up Kubica who really looked like he was going to have Button.

I'm going to be dissapointed if Button wins the championship, i just don't think he is that good :(.

On another note. Algeshuari smashing through the ING advert board was fantastic :D

Well, I set the alarm for 5am.. eventualy managed to turn on the tv at 5.40am.. then turned it off after 5mins and went back to sleep :D

So I've watched the race on Iplayer (all 1.2gig of it) and it was great. Edge of seat viewing at the end with Button very nearly getting overtaken by the BMW.

Great race by Vettel, going alone at the front with his very own race.

I wasn't impressed with Kovi ramming Sutil though, that wasn't on.

Yeah, I really like the guy, but he'll be the least deserving champion since Jacques Villeneuve. I don't see anyone else taking it though, certainly not anyone more deserving of it. Truth is that Button has driven a better season than Vettel who's thrown away his chances too often.

We ended up having to take our son to the out of hours GP with a bad chest at 3:30, got back around 4:15 and had to make a decision, stay up or watch on iPlayer - sleep won out. Apart from a few moments I was bitterly disappointed with the racing today - Jenson having problems with balance whilst following show that more needs to be done on limiting wing-based downforce.

Must say Algewhatshisnames car crashing through that polystyrene advertising board made for a very impressive bit of telly in slow motion. Saw they had him hooked up to a drip, must have been pretty hot in those cars today and wanting to stave off dehydration.

Considering his car is far from the quickest, he's been fantastic I think!

Indeed, he took a lot of flack earlier in the season but this 2nd half (now that Massa's out of the picture?) his driving has been great. I don't think he's about to quit F1, not if a McLaren drive is a possibility. He has to see a 2010 drive with McLaren as a great chance to win a 2nd championship.

And who do you thing is more deserving of the title? Vettel who has been as consistent as the FIA or Barrichello who has a little baby tantrum and blames the team every time he has a problem, fact is Button is the only one who has got his head down this season and done the work.

So you don't rate most WDCs then as most have had difficult 2nd half on there first WDCs.

Button had a fantastic first half and even on bad weekends makes the most of it and takes a few points. Very deserving. It's the same every year, people belittle the leader.

little to no competition in the first half of the season. All the other teams were finding their feet. now everyone has caught up with development, he looks pretty average and the drivers with real pace are showing their skill ( raikonnen, hamilton, vettel e.t.c.)

Whoever wins the championship will deserve it - because they have accumulated the most points over the season. That's how a championship works, you don't need to go out and crucify the opposition in every race. Of course if you can, that's great but it's by no means essential.

There have been no massively disputed wins this year, unlike last.
People will say Button is going to win on the merits of doing well in the best car at the beginning of the year. But guess what, nobody ever won a championship in a complete heap did they? Button got a big pile of hay made when the sun was shining and everyone else was making silly mistakes. Now the tide has turned he is playing a very conservative and safe run in to the title.

So at the beginning of the year the Brawn was making Button look good because everyone else was so far behind.

Now the other teams have developed cars to the point that they're outperforming the Brawn, it's the drivers with "real pace" showing their skill? So it's nothing to do with them now having good cars? And Button's pace at the start of the year was all car and no Button? If so how did he win 6 and Barrichello win none then?

Barrichello had the same car and did not capitalise, vettle has shown massive inconsistency. Hamilton has an extremely good cars now. Raikonnen is like button making the best of a not brilliant situation.
Button despite not havng the best car and despite bad qaulis is getting the car into the points and doing what needs to be done.
