Poll: Syrian Chemical Weapon Attack

Would you support a military strike on Syria without a UN Security Council resolution?

Good old Germans, why do they have to be better at everything than everyone else? No doubt forum members like ubersonic or Lazder won't believe it until a "personality" makes a ******** video about this though.

I believe it about as much as I believe the daily mail article about the leak from the British security firm who heard from somebody in the US government that they were planning to detonate chemical weapons and blame it on Assad (and by that I mean I don't believe it at all as its merely unfounded Nth party speculation).

I would believe it if the was a shred of credible proof, but alas...

Seriously, is a leak from somebody anonymous who claims to be in German intelligence and claims to have overheard a conversation between a terrorist and the Iranian embassy where they said they believed Assad ordered the attack really credible in your eyes?

This is a great situation for Russia/China... Soon there will be such opposition to war in all NATO countries that the government would not be able to do anything at all... Since after major mess up in Iraq everyone is already very angry, Libya and now Syria....

NATO governments diminishing their reputation in eyes of their own people, I wonder if they going to dare start another war with 95% public opinion against it.

And lets not forget China owns most American debt, it could call it in any time it wants (which would cripple/topple the US in a strained protracted war)

Please tell me you're joking. China would be the biggest loser in any such "war" (which won't happen btw) because the US would simply stop paying back their debts and raise money though other means typically associated with a war economy. Do you really think an ordinary Chinese person is going to be happy losing his entire savings because of their President's backing for a vile war criminal like Assad?

Did you honestly think that in a Sino-American war the Americans would continue to pay their debts back to China? Hahaha.

Go to a shop, try to find few things that are not "made in china" Thing is that if our relations strain with china, they can become self-sustainable they only need west for the money... (Like soviet union did) But dont forget that China produces much more items than USSR ever did.

China would be more than happy to seize western companies factories and use their technology, for example they could manufacture apple products with no issues :D

If china breaks relations with us, we will be beyond screwed our whole industry is in Asia and no way will we be able to rebuild it here in UK or USA.

No of course the americans wouldn't pay it back. And then their economy would completely collapse because china wouldn't lend them another penny!

So why did you say that China would "call in" its debts? How can you call in a debt that you aren't yet owed? Frankly if China and the USA go to war then both economies are screwed and tbh that'd be the least of their problems.
