Tabletop Warhammer?

:( Anyone else? Maybe tomorrow?

Apologies again, I didn't anticipate the delays in my journey home. >.<

If you're still around and still up for a game, I have made it home and won't be doing anything else this evening, although I appreciate it's a bit later than scheduled. I have a list ready to go and got the army set up in Vassal this morning. Otherwise, if you're free another time, I'd still like to get a game against you. :)

I'm sure Woogie will add to this but we agreed last night that assault army against a 'Nids army geared for assault is suicide. Would have been interesting to see a shooting army against them but the amount of fliers in the army and then the infiltrators (stealers) might make even that risky. The Trevigon was massive as well. He stayed in cover, but in range of my west flank stopping them from fleeing which tied up the whole west flank for the whole battle stopping them assisting the rest of the army. That and over 40 termegants spawned again helped bog down the CSM army.

Great battle and looking forward to the tournament, playing 'Nids has certainly threw them into the mix for which army I'll end up taking!

I think what didn't help was my poor deployment and movement, I deployed Havocs on the left hand side which never really got to fire anything and I should have waited for you to advance on me rather than me moving forward and allowing you to charge. If I could have got at least 1 round of shooting in with 2 squads of Havocs before you charged I think I could have done a bit more damage.

I have no redone this army slightly and taken a few lascannons, melta bombs and Typhus :) now. Itching to give it another go to see how this fares instead :)

I also dropped the Warp Talons.... absolutely pathetic, Think they may be worth taking if you DON'T deep strike them.

Yeah don't worry. I'm happy to play now if you want? I'll go on mumble

Indeed. The first thing I saw in that battle report was....you advanced against Tyranids?? :p

I'm not too sure.

I only got then when I was young but visiting museums/castles they always had them. Had around 15 different ones at one point. They might even be in my parents loft somewhere if I looked.

Sorry I can't be of more help :)

No worries, thanks for trying!

Are you planning on Typhus for your main army?

The army you had would normally maul most other armies to be fair.

I am, I've just uploaded the new one to the Dropbox if you want to take a look over it :)

Hey it was my first game back in years..... :P live and learn :)

Well in an epic battle my Necrons won a Seize Ground game 1 objective to nil against JHeaton's Imperial Fists (who, for the Emperor's finest, spent a lot of time hiding in the trees...in bright yellow armour)

Thankfully the game went to seven turns, because at the end of turn 5 it was 1-1! (I completely forgot how many turns we had and failed to move people towards objectives!)

By the end of the game there were only 3 assault marines and a sergeant left standing, locked in an endless combat with some scarabs!

Those Tau look fantastic. I never imagined them being done in a white scheme, but it looks lovely. :)

That was a fun game with Shamikebab. I definitely need to read up on the rules some more, but it's nice to get back in to the game after so long. The dice gods were definitely on my side today though, as my luck was nothing short of spectacular! :p

In other news, powerfist sergeants are not high up on my list after that. I can totally understand scarabs not causing many wounds on Space Marines, but for a guy with two S8 save-ignoring attacks to go three (or was it four?) rounds of combat without causing a single wound is ridiculous! The one in the final turn was too little too late! Special mention to the three Marines who died valiantly as they dropped into the middle of a forest, and the other one who didn't seem able to avoid a tree as he ignited his jump pack in an attempt to leave... :p

I was definitely lucky to survive so long, though looking back it would certainly have been great if the game did end when we had an objective each as I had somehow managed to move myself into a decent position by that stage. :p

Those Tau look brilliant :)

Much better than my Sa'cea coloured ones :) (my first foray into GW for 10+ years, and my first fully painted army).
