Yeah that's a possibility (HQ units are optional anyway)

I think we're planning on a system to let characters be Warlords (not just HQ units) so you could have a squad leader as your Warlord.

Well drew a little 500pt Annihilation game against LordHughes

Army Lists:

Me:

Farseer (Guide, Fortune)
10 Pathfinders
2 Warwalkers (Scatter Lasers)

Him:
Ethereal
3x12 Fire Warriors
2 Crisis Suits

I killed one fire warrior squad, the crisis suits managed to kill the War Walkers and nothing else happened! The Farseer charged the crisis suits but neither side could hurt each other. I managed to get a second Fire Warrior squad down to 3 models and nothing could hurt the Rangers (2+ re-rollable save

)

Was a fun little game

quite like 500pts for a quick game like that.

Also, If I had manage to eliminate the walkers sooner and got my fire warriors out of cover I could have done some damage to your tree hugging hippies

Yeah 4x4. It would have been different if the Walkers had gone quicker, it wasn't a very balanced army I must say! I'll try a different list Saturday

You had a lot riding on the walkers heavily damaging my fire warrior squads, and they did succeed, that first squad went very quickly.
