@anewhope how did you get the shading on the white cloth it looks great :D

The shading looks like washes and highlights, bleached bone for the highlight maybe?

EDIT: Just finished my first Mandrake.

something like this'll do you

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AIRBRUSH-KIT-...Crafts_DrawingSupplies_EH&hash=item5635b6fe82

most miniature painters i know (including myself) have this kit or a variant of this kit, the compressors are usually the same but the airbrushes differ from auction to auction but they're usually similar enough models.

i've only use hot water to clean mine, seems to have done the trick so far but even if you need to do a proper clean once in a while it wouldn't cost a lot!

I've got a variation of this, and bizarrely the airbrushes that came with it stand up to my 2 Iwata HP-Cs in terms of quality.

Got my new Kanz. Off to Warhammer world next sunday which should be a treat. Going to have about a 6k battle on the epic tables there!

£70 to spend on the Waaaagh...
I'm thinking big mek /w shokk attack gun, then purchasing a deff dread (counts as a troop choice with big mek)

I honestly do not bother varnishing my models, they rarely get chipped and when they do in my eyes they look more battleworn :D, however if you use an army sharder quick dip im told that you should use an anti shine spray as it shines quite a lot, not 100% sure on this though.
@Freelanc3r, I highly reccommend the shock attack gun, am i right in saying if you roll a double 6 for it anything the ordanance template touches is automatically destroyed, no questions asked?

I do not want 2-3hours per model to get chipped. What is the GW Purity Seal like?

And I need models for my Dark Eldar grotesques, I cannot think of what to use...

Yep!
Going to head down to my local GW and buy one tomorrow.
However on a double 1 it kills the mek and any models with D6 :p However that's the fun of playing orks!

It's ordnance 1, large blast. Range 60'' and AP 2 :D strength = 2d6 and obviously consulting the chart.

The shokk attack guns are great fun...we had a game where the mek was sat in a bunker with his buddies and missfired the gun rather spectacularly - the mek killed himself, his buddies, and the bunker from memory :D

That's all part of the fun :D

Unsure whether to stick him in my 10man squad of Lootas that I normally sit on a hill at the back of the board. Or have him alone incase he rolls a 1,1 and kills everyone within d6''?

started to paint my high elves yesterday. Just working on a mage, unit of silver helms & a unit of archers at the moment to try & work out my colour scheme. Going for a very untraditional colour scheme tbh, more what you would expect from a dark elf force. The idea being its a small defence force for an outpost that has spent too long fighting the dark elves & chaos. Main colours are deep red & a very dark turquoise.

Always like to have a little narative/ backstory for my armies.

Will get some pics done when its more than just a few base colours.

One of my mates is going halves with me on the starter box so we have the latest rules, I get the (rather nice looking) high elves & he's looking at starting skaven. The new tomb kings models are rather tasty too, so I'm having to avoid going into a GW store or I'll end up walking out with some

Its depressing to see 40 y/o men playing with toys

That's right, we should all change our names to Graham Grey, wear only grey suits, and dye our hair grey too to match the theme and spend our time complaining about the weather, traffic the "state of this country" and immigrants as well as various other inane thing that are *so* important and serious "adult" topics.

(to anyone called Graham, I'm sorry about your name, it's not your fault... :D)
