What's the place in Luton called? (assuming it's safe for work as it were).
Thinking about it, it sounds like a great place...
@anewhope how did you get the shading on the white cloth it looks great
Painting with red is really frustrating
something like this'll do you

most miniature painters i know (including myself) have this kit or a variant of this kit, the compressors are usually the same but the airbrushes differ from auction to auction but they're usually similar enough models.
i've only use hot water to clean mine, seems to have done the trick so far but even if you need to do a proper clean once in a while it wouldn't cost a lot!
I honestly do not bother varnishing my models, they rarely get chipped and when they do in my eyes they look more battleworn , however if you use an army sharder quick dip im told that you should use an anti shine spray as it shines quite a lot, not 100% sure on this though.
@Freelanc3r, I highly reccommend the shock attack gun, am i right in saying if you roll a double 6 for it anything the ordanance template touches is automatically destroyed, no questions asked?

The shokk attack guns are great fun...we had a game where the mek was sat in a bunker with his buddies and missfired the gun rather spectacularly - the mek killed himself, his buddies, and the bunker from memory
Question for you all, how do you guys protect the paint on your figures? What varnish do you use?
Its depressing to see 40 y/o men playing with toys
