Tabletop Warhammer?

I think they are indoctrinated in a certain way.

A while ago, i was out shopping in notts with the mrs, and thought id pop into the lacal Games Workshop to pick up a book. Im only really interested in the novels and back-stories these days.

I got into the shop, to be litterally grabbed and questioned by a lad who was probably early-mid 20s.

I seriously couldnt get rid of him, even after pollitely chatting for a bit about the books i'd read, he then went onto actually act out a small scene from a novel (voices and everything). :D

My mrs found the whole thing hillarious at the time (she doesnt know anything about Warhammer) and a little unsettling!

They are way, WAY too nuts about their hobby

Hi all,

Just wondering if any of the people from this forum play the tabletop version of warhammer at all, I for one just started collecting necrons from 40k in January and started going to a local gaming Club fairly close around the telford shropshire areas. Would be great to see who else off here plays?

Arcimbaldo

Used to play this several years ago - started off with the traditional Orcs and soon moved up to WH40K.

Still got some of my 40K figures and a few of those Orcs. Ahh, wonderful the memories of painstakingly painting these figures....

Having said that, personally I prefer Magic Cards as opposed to WH - far cheaper and far more versatile.

Just finished working out what my army will be...

1 HQ - Archon

1 - Elite - Mandrakes

4 - Troops - 2x 10man Wyche squads, both with Radiers
2x 10man Kabalist squads, 1 splinter cannon

2 - Fast Attack - 6 Reavers, 5 scourges

3 - Heavy Support - Ravager, Talos Pain Engine, Chronos Parasite Engine.

What do you guys think?

I bought some loctite glue for £2.65 with free postage from fleabay which is awesome stuff, i just need some araldite for my Necron Deceiver as Super Glue is not strong enough.

Oh and i got my ass handed to me today by an Ork Player, Mainly cause i forgot one of my lords. It was a bit ironic as he charged my monolith with a unit of tankbustas, 6 Str 10 Tankhammer hits immobilised the monolith and it seemingly would not die, then his Str 6 2d6 armor pen krak grenades destroy it -.- I phased out in the end thoguh...

Ahhh, the tankhammers!
Where do you game?

We had a 2vs2 6000point battle today at warhammer world. Orks and Chaos vs Dark Angels and IG.

Orks seemed to clean up with the onslaught of boys, IG player got unlucky with ordnance (basilisk, manticore, master of ordnance) and if I'm honest, chaos didn't seem to do that much. The joys of having power klawz in each boys squad...

re the glue, I tend to use locktite gel/ultra gell which is in a nice container rather than the usual tube and gooey enough that it doesn't go everywhere, it also seems to work well most of the time (not instant which gives you a chance to position it fully).

I actually managed to do some painting last night for the first time in ages, the rims of 7 gun drones:p

freelanc3r,
I play at STAGS in Telford, Shropshire.
I got the C'tan Deceiver today as i love the model, delicously evil in the words of Stewie Griffin.
I am looking to get stuff of fleabay now due to the ludicrous prices prices as you can get some real bargains when bidding, if your willing to strip them/touch them up a bit.

So it turns out I had more in my attic than I thought.
