Tabletop Warhammer?

I get paid in two weeks and seriously thinking about starting a fantasy army instead of 40k.

Never bought fantasy models but beastmen look awesome but failing that I may get dwarves.

Just went to my local GW to try and get a Big mek, apparently they've changed all the metal models to some resin/plastic mix which will be available on saturday? So glad they didn't have the mek in stock. Going to enjoy all plastic/resin models. They've got more detail than metal models too.

Friend that works there. Fortunately, it's not 25% on everything, which makes me happier. I was browsing Dark Sphere and they have a breakdown of exactly what is increased and by how much. It's still not great though.:/

That sucks so bad.
edit: is that site legit? All the models seem to be fairly cheap. Regardless of the £8 postage. Can pay on paypal too so gives you some security...

I said that earlier in the thread but no one picked up on it.

Whilst they have more detail and cheaper, they will charge more for the models. :(

Any reason to increase prices, and Games Workshop jump all over it. A long time ago (another price increase) one of the staff actually tried to convince me that it was because of "9/11" making oil prices go up, that's why they were increasing their prices...

I despise the in-house staff during shop hours. I bet they're perfectly fine characters but the enthusiasm they show is unhealthy.

I think you came across a bad egg though. :o

Well they are a business after all, people will still their models, I personally think they're just gauging how far they can get away with it all.

I used to play 40k when i was much younger and fairly recently thought i'd give it another bash but found it seriously hard to find guys to play with. I'd rather not play in a cramped store with no room to move, and the guys in GW directed me towards a club but most there were in the age range of 10-14. Hang about there too long i might get lifted, not to mention i'd prefer to play with guys a bit more mature and around my own age.

Anyway never did manage to get into it so looking to sell my Blood Angels army. Will be a shame but there you go.

Anyone know what might be the best method to sell a 40k army?

Warseer, Dakka, Librarium Online, Bolter and Chainsword, Heresy Online are all good websites that have trading forums (I think), which is probably going to be your best option over Ebay.

The price increases are pretty savage, I'm just glad I don't collect a hoarde army. The cost of production should fall somewhat with the transition to the new material, but the savings are highly unlikely to be passed onto the customer which is just going to price GW out of their own market.
