Tabletop Warhammer?

IMG-0209.jpg

This little tool arrived yesterday, perfect for my needs & should speed the clean up process a lot after cutting model parts from their sprues.

Just need to buy 3 more of the shanks that the 5mm sanding pads fit on, then I can have four grades of grit ready to go.

Cheers all

Are you agitating it and keeping it warm given its winter?

Electric toothbrush and a radiator may help like old school pcb etching

I wrapped them in cling film after fully submerging and left over night. Most of the paint has come off. There's a bit of staining but overall I feel the process is just to involved and messy compared to IPA.
It's fine though, it will be useful for other stuff.

the models don't need to be totally stripped bear just as long as you can get a nice clean smooth coat and don't block detail. I found GW Wraith bone a mare to remove in the past

If you're painting fairly thin have you tried just painting over? You might be surprised what you can get away with if you just give it a quick prime over, especially if you reprime with an airbrush.

Vince Venturella uses an Ogor Mawtribes model for demo purposes and he reckons he's never stripped it, just just paints it over and over and over again.

Oversaw a match between two of my friends yesterday. Tau vs Eldar.

Eldar are ridiculous, they really are. Just the shear number of re-rolls or even the preposterous volume of fate dice, added to units that are far too cheap for their abilities or stats and then some great stratagems on top!
The Tau list was good but outmatched. Some poor dice rolling from the Tau player and some very hot rolls from the Eldar player sealed the deal in turn 3. Up til then I'd have put the Tau in the lead by better play.

Take the spiritseer as an example. He gives the same abilities as a spacemarine apothecary, but also gives his unit lethal hits as well as +1 to hit on top! Oh and he has an anti-infantry 2+ weapon that does d3 wounds and hits on a 2. And a 4++. For the same price as an apothecary biologis.

Played a game yesterday, 1k size, Necrons vs Blood Angels.

By the end of my second turn he conceeded as some absolutely ungodly damage luck by the Void Dragon had wiped out 2 of his units and 1 character. The wraiths had some insane saving rolls and after pumping everything he had into them, only 1 had died. At this point it was obviously just going to be a mop up operation.

It may have gone better if he got the distance closed and managed to get the charges off, but both times didnt make the charge rolls even with command re-rolls and that gave me the initiative.

Also watched a game with sisters, and they just look so fun.

I’m so close on pulling the trigger on a unit or two. Lunatic Warrior Nuns and organ tanks!!!

Theres not a better faction if you like listening to Ghost

Not sure on which subfaction but the red or classic black is awsome!!

Hi all! Can anyone recommend a good starter into Warhammer (it has been a while for me) I last played Warhammer Quest :D

Would love to get back into it and also include my daughters ideally, who are aged 12, 11, 8 (my 2-year-old might be a tad too young!)

I was thinking Warhammer Quest, but am then getting conflicting opinions of Hero Quest?

Have a look at underworlds.

I could just try re-priming yes, just feels.... Wrong.
I definitely do not have any Sob boxes hidden away >_>
Why?

It’s paint, it’s an additive process. Even when you don’t make any mistakes you’re still putting paint on paint on paint. Doesn’t even need to primer over the top, just the new base colour.

Guess so, just feels like the equivalent of tidying a room by hiding everything in a cupboard lol.
A couple I have to strip because the paint is too thick but noted.

Also I hate you lot. I ended up ordering a box of old world because I was playing total war 3 and thought eh why not.

I don't know barely any of the lore but I'm surprised lizardmen aren't a core race because a video I watched indicates they were one of the first races around when that world was made. The video was focused mainly on the end times though and I gather old world is set quite a long time before (but doesn't explain to me why the factions don't 'exist')

Also realised I've been using my wet pallet wrong and probably overthinning my paints.

This mornings work in progress, 2 layers of gold and 2 colours of shade, highlight with Stormshield Silver next and thats the armour done.

Her wings will be painted separate, much easier to do that way.

Cheers All

The new core factions have been picked based on the fact 'The Old World' is actually only a small part of overall Warhammer Fantasy map (think like Europe vs World Map) and the various narratives they want to play out are all centered there. It doesn't just mean the whole world but older, 'The Old World' is a particular place.

Lizardmen are from somewhere else, so won't feature in the story of The Old World.

That makes sense. I saw a cool 8k map but I think it's for TWWH3. This isn't the 8k version:

Started a doomstalker tonight.

What an insanely fun model to not only assemble but paint.

Aside from the base, just waiting for some nuln oil to dry and finished painting it in one evening just because it was so enjoyable.

Nearly done her wings are finished, waiting on the base to dry, then a bit of drybrush over all the base then attach her wings.

Cheers All

Epic scale. Not finished but had first game tonight. Was fun.

Looks to be a good game, can't wait to get started.

Awaiting for some red spray to get my blood angels up and running.
However I just can't decide what scheme to paint the solar auxilia.

Got titans galore as I've already got titanicus, so they are all covered, easily do a 6k game with them alone lolz
