Genuinely depends on which you go for.

I have a cheap one which came with an air compressor but it absolutely perfect for priming and general base coats.

You can pick this kit up for £80 on Amazon ;)


Then at a later date you can buy a better quality airbrush to do fine detail work, whatever you decide always clean out your airbrush after use and it will serve you well.

Get yourself an airbrush & save more by not using rattle cans, plus you have more control with an airbrush, I really object to paying around £13 for a tin of Citadel primer when I can buy a 100ml bottle of AK Microfiller primer for £8.00 which lasts ages, plus not as much waste that you get from rattle cans.

I actually have the airbrush setup to the right of my monitor with my gaming PC to the left of the monitor but I am lucky enough to have this in a log cabin at the end of the garden.

There is a fan extractor setup you can purchase which could help in your predicament. I haven’t got one myself as the airbrush is next to a window that I keep open when it gets switched on.

That sounds great and I would really appreciate it, the last time I played was 3rd/4th edition when models were still made from metal!

I need to paint some things and decide on a singular army to “grow”

I play as Orks, i've only ever played three games in 9th but going to get some more in in the next few months!

My FLGS has an entire gaming room upstairs with loads of tables, i'm half tempted to try and organise some kind of meetup! :p
 
WIP on the shield for my Despoiler, mostly done really. Went hazard stripes to mix up the colour a bit. Going to put some hazard stripes on the rest of the Knights for this army, some of them at least just to inject a bit of extra colour.



Edit: The actual Knight is basically done as well, a few lenses to do in the purple and that's it. Oh and heat fade on the little meltagun. Here he is with his friend

He's a really nice guy, I pop in to get some bits from there sometimes and I split my online ordering between them and Wayland who are my other local place. I'd buy more in store but they do 10% in store and 20% online so whenever I want stuff that goes over their free shipping I'll always go to them if they've got it in.

I've never played anywhere except my place or mate's houses, but my mate who I play with most has lost interest overnight like he does with everything so I need to get working on some other mates who were interested! One of them got some Tau stuff before Christmas but I don't think he's had much luck with painting, he's been very quiet about it so I might have to try and gee him up a bit.

Wayland are in Hockley, down Southend way.

Painted, I've got a bit over 2k of Orks, about 2k of Necrons, and however many points three big ones and four (about to be six) little ones is of Chaos Knights.

Need to bang a load of war dogs out really, big Knights are pretty useless for Chaos Knights in 10th but I like them.

I've only played about 4 or 5 games of 10th, I think we probably played 8/10 games of 9th, started actually playing towards the end of 9th.

I have about a million points of Marines that I'm "about to start" and have been about to start for some time but I really mean it now I'm going to get cracking on them soon.

Ooh yeah just reminded me I have some wardogs still in box. They were originally to bolster my DG.
Been trying to get a Moirax with lightning Locks for a while but still not in stock.

The temptation to get one to kitbash into a Gorka/Morkanaut is strong right now! :p

I'll have to get down to Wayland at some point soon to check them out!

Not local but generally order all my stuff from Wayland. They have the lowest min order for free postage (£20) and haven't set a foot wrong over many orders. Had one mispick of a paint but they let me keep it and credited my account so I could reorder the right one.

Stop it you'll make me blush

Morkanauts are rad as well, I've painted one, still need to paint the other. I get horribly distracted and have very bad collector tendencies so my pile of shame is always huge and so is my stash of built and half painted models :/
