Tabletop Warhammer?

Long soak in Flash will release the paint and not harm the plastic. To avoid having to scrub use an ultrasonic cleaner and watch the paint fall off. If you dont want to use the ultrasonic for anything else then just put more Flash in it instead of water too.

Anyone here play Boardgames?

Played an awesome one the other night at the Northwest Gaming Centre, was called Arkham Horror.

Thinking of getting D-Day Dice also....

Well dark vengenance boxset arrived.
I think the figures are smaller now than they used to be, I bought my previous lot back in the lead days, might be close to 20 years ago I suppose.
Really must find my old Eldar.

Minatures are nice but the snap fitting aspect seems rather hit and miss, some of it works well and is very sturdy, some of them not so much, especially weaponhands on choas chaps.

Might force the wife into learning the rules later on for a quick game :)

I think the models have generally got a little bigger than they used to be, a couple of my friends have got all their models from all the way back when they started, and some of them are tiny :) (there are orc nobs that are barely bigger than modern gretchin)

Aye it's funny how they;'ve changed over the years, iirc one of the original Gaskull Thracker models is about the size (or smaller) than a normal orc boy now :)

Some of the other models have got smaller/changed massively - I've currently got representatives from three generations of Pink Horrors, and the new plastic ones are much taller/more detailed than the stumpy metal ones, but also a lot more "delicate" than the last ones :) (I love the new models).

Bought some bits last friday :D

Awesome, those bombers look great in the plastic :)

I don't know how, but GW's pictures of their models often don't do them justice:p

wow, those are really good, the last two especially!

I'm working on a veteran squad, here's the tester, slightly more well developed paint scheme for them now, basically same as the old one but with a few more stages so they look a tad better close up;

would like to have the other 4 bog standard lasgunners completed by the end of the week and they're in various stages now so that shouldn't be too hard but I've got another commission on the way so bang goes my hobby time again :p

Yeh i've been really impressed with the kit, it was great to build and looks awesome.

Agree on the picture front, in that case it doesn't seem very 'orky'. Hopefully I can add a bit more too it. Will post pics when doen.

@ Vargo and Vincent - Some awesome painted models, great to see some more painted stuff in this thread :D

I'm just waiting for Angron to get delivered from Forgeworld.

Me too. I couldn't resist after reading the Horus Heresy novels. Easily my most extravagant model purchase ever - especially as I bought the book too! Thought it might arrive today, but alas no. :(

Apparently Garro is being put up on the Forgeworld website this Friday.

I'm so tempted to buy some of the forgeworld Cataphractii Terminators and a phallic bike! a lot of cash though.

Just finished building a squad of Blood Claws and a pack of Fenrisian wolves.

These things take ages with kids :)

Currently working my way through a squad of 24 Wood Elf Eternal Guard and it is taking far longer than I want.

Bought a couple of eagles too which will need building up this week. Shall try for painted shots as I go.

Myself and a few others are heading to Warhammer World on Sat 27th October if anyone fancied meeting up. I think there will be 2 40k players and 2 WHFB players for anyone wanting a game and a pint?

I have 3 tables booked at present for us so if you want to pop along just let me know!
